I smiled sitting on my hospital bed as the nurse said something funny. That leg should be able to come out of the cast in three weeks. I looked down some. They had me on crutches but said to mainly use a wheelchair since I had an asthma attack. And as soon as someone is here to pick you up, you can leave. I smirked and then looked up as Henry came bouncing in basically with Regina. Hi. I muttered and Regina sighed. How are you? I'm good. She smiled some and nodded. Good, you had us all worried. I looked down. Well I will go sign the release papers, and Henry wanted to get some lunch with you, does that sound like fun? I nodded and she walked out. I'm really sorry I dragged you down there, and got you hurt. I shrugged. It's ok, I'm not hurt that bad. He just looked down some.

After lunch I was brought up to my room at Granny's. I was super light so, carrying me was easy. See just like you left it. I smirked as I crutched over to my bed. Hey Tonight there is a welcome home party for that John doe. David? I asked and Ruby nodded. Yeah, you wanna go? I shrugged some. I'll go, if it means I get out of here for a few hours. Ruby nodded and left I sat there looking  around.

That night I went in with Ruby. It didn't take me long to find Henry. Hey Dani. I smirked some as I leaned against the crutch. How's the leg? Still broken. Emma looked up at me as she was sitting. How're the lungs? As good as they're ever gonna get I guess. Hey, I found this on the ground, after the accident. She said holding my compass necklace up. Oh my God you found it. I said amazed Henry frowned at it. What? He smiled some shaking his head as I took the necklace from Emma sticking it in my pocket. You gonna tell me why you have that look? I asked and he shook his head. No, but I will soon. Uh- Dani come here. I sighed some and crutched to Ruby

Ok what was that about? I think I know who she is, she's not a main character but she's a secondary one. What does- she crosses over into several stories, including Snow White and Prince Charming's story. Oh? He nodded some. What's her name, then? Hayes Jones.

The party ended and I went back to Granny's. These next few weeks were going to be boring. It would also give me time to work on my grades. I flopped back and sighed.

Hayes keep up. I'm trying. I whined, but my legs hurt. Father turned and frowned. What's the matter? He asked crouching. My legs hurt again. Ah, another growth spurt. He stood. Well don't let them lock up, remember? I nodded and kept moving. We were heading back to the ship anyways. Something like this had happened two years before, when I was five. It had been a growth spurt that my body couldn't keep up with, as father put it. Anyway we came out onto the dock. When we get back I'll help you work them and- Hook! I stopped and watched Black Beard walk up. I want that ship. Hayes, run. I looked up at father a blade came down onto Father's hook. GO, RUN! I turned and ran in the other direction. I tripped and bumped into a woman who frowned. Gracious, are you alright? I shook my head. I'm in trouble a man- calm down, what's your name? I bit my lip some. Agatha, but I prefer being called Aggie. Where are your parents? Preoccupied, but I'm in trouble, I need help. Well my name is Ruth Nolan. Good to meet you.

I crutched down the sidewalk with Henry. So what was that about the other night? He smirked. I think I might know who you are in the book. Oh? Are you going to tell me or- I'll tell you when I have it confirmed. Of course. I muttered before stopping and taking a breather. Shouldn't you be using your wheelchair? I hate the thing. I said and Henry shook his head. Of course you do. So who do you think I am? Well, how do you feel about a pirate? A what? I all but laughed he sighed. A pirate. I'd be damned if I was a pirate. I shook my head starting to go in front of him. Me a pirate, I'm not agile enough to live on a boat.

David! A man came out of the small house frowning. Mother? This is Aggie why- I was a in a little trouble... Black Beard decided to pay my family a little visit. That pirate, he needs to be stopped. So you stole the child? We didn't steal her, we're protecting her. He sighed some. How long? Until my father comes to get me, which he will. How will he find you? He always manages to find me. They both looked at me some and nodded. Well nice to meet you, I'm David. I shook his hand and he smirked. How well do you do at chores? David! His mother snapped smacking his arm lightly he laughed some. I was kidding mother.

School was difficult my backpack almost pulled me backwards. Here, I got it. Henry- he took my bag before I could say anything else. I'm going to be very glad when this is off. I frowned some as I saw the John doe leaving the class room. He accidentally bumped into me, and I got these flashes of something. A girl who looked an awful a lot like me, standing on a farm with this dude an echoed name which sounded like Hayes. I frowned some at him. Sorry. I shook my head as he walked off. What the- what's wrong, Dani? N-nothing, sorry. I said to Henry as we went into class.

What're you drawing? I looked up from my book. I was sitting at the table by a sheep pin. A dragon. Those nasty pests? They aren't pests. I snapped slamming my book shut. And yes, I actually find them interesting. So, Black Beard huh? I nodded and he frowned. What do your parents do. Firstly, it's just my father. I said and he nodded. My apologies. Secondly, he's a good trader, of sorts. I said he nodded some. So why would Black Beard want to mess with your family? I shrugged some. Who knows, I just know that my father said for me to run. And you're sure he'll find you all the way out here? I nodded again. As long as he's alright, he'll find me.

I didn't go to Granny's after school. I was still freaked about what I had seen when David the John doe had bumped into me. There had to be some explanation for it, right? I mean I had never had that happen. It could have been chalked up to my concussion, and the fact I was on pain medication for my leg. I swallowed hard as I heard a car horn beep. You ok? I felt my stomach pitted. Jefferson, was a guy who was close to the Mayor, he had also been the guy who had fostered me until I went and stayed with Granny. Something about him just wasn't right and I didn't like him much as a child. Fine. Well Granny's isn't this way, and you are hurt. I nodded some. I know that. I can't allow you to keep going, you know that right? I nodded defeated. Come on, I'll give you a lift home. I smirked some.

It was the next morning, Father still hadn't come back for me yet. Something must've happened. I said and David frowned. He's never taken this long to find me. He sighed and turned to his mother. I'm taking Aggie here to go find her father, it would be the right thing to do. She nodded and he turned. Come on

He pulled up and sighed. There you go. Thanks. I said as I opened the door. Ruby who was at the outside patio sitting area came running up. Where have you been?!? She yelled as soon as she opened the door. She was on her way home but is a little slow now. He said as I stood up leaning on my crutches. Right, why didn't you call and have someone pick you up? I just wanted time to think. I said and she frowned. Go get cleaned up and then come back down for dinner. She said and I nodded. Thank you. She said to
Jefferson and then walked away. Dani what happened? She asked as she helped me up to my room. Something weird happened at school and I just wanted to clear my head. She nodded and sighed. But it's getting dark out there. I know I'm sorry. She nodded some. Just get cleaned up for dinner.

We made it to the market place again and he sighed. We haven't seen anything of him yet and- I saw the back of someone and smirked. Father! He turned  his jaw dropped. Hayes. He muttered jogging up. Where were you. Uh my mother took her to our farm, she said Black Beard had been causing issues. Thank you, how can I repay you for watching her? It was no trouble. Please let me- it's really alright, goodbye Aggie. He said before walking off. Aggie? What I use fake names around people I don't know. That's my lass. He said smiling as we headed back to the ship. So what happened to Black Beard? Don't worry about him.

That night I sat in the diner picking at my dinner. The images still running through my head. I didn't get why these kept popping up but I didn't want them. I wanted them to stop.

She is a woman who's had her heart broken, and that can make you do unspeakable things.
