The Shadow

There aren't many rules about being a lost one. Felix said and I frowned cocking my head. Harry just stared at him. But there is two places we don't go. Rule one don't go to skull rock. Why? Harry asked and Felix looked him up and down. Cause anyone who goes in, doesn't come out. Pan went in and came out. Barely. Pan said walking past I frowned some at him, but focused again on Felix. Rule two, don't go into the Dark Hallow. Unless you want to lose your shadow. I swallowed hard. Now come on have fun.

I looked over at Neal as he said that Pan's shadow was the only way off. Wow, you actually did listen to dad's lessons I said pushing off of the rock wall. Alright while you guys are telling Tink and on Shadow duty I'll go- with me. Dad said and I shook my head. No way, Regina is still out someone has to go find her. So here's the thing. Emma said and I frowned. Emma is a big girl, and can take care of herself, you're going with us. I sighed some. I need you to go get something from the ship. Right. I said as he handed me the small list. Cool. I said before poofing. I frowned though. I looked up and could only see dark blues. I looked down and I was falling. NO NO NO! I screamed throwing magic up and poofing again hitting the deck hard. I sighed getting up and going to dad's cabin. I grabbed a fresh candle, a lantern. I was looking for matches when I dropped something. I frowned at the knife which had fell. I picked it up and felt something carved into it. I stuck that in a bag and grabbed the matches sticking all of it into a bag and putting a spell on it to keep the water out. Poofing obviously wasn't an option. I took my bracelet off and dove in.

I came up to the camp still soaked. I handed dad the stuff and he frowned. Pan's screwing with my magic, I almost died poofing out to the ship, I had to swim back. You could have taken a row boat. Too slow. I said to Neal and looked over, dad was holding the knife. What? He gave it to me and smiled at me sadly. I saw why too, I saw the harsh letters carved out into the the leather of the hilt. H.L.J. Harry. I muttered and shook my head as dad lit the lantern. You know there is a thing called flash lights. Did you bring one? I looked down and he laughed some shaking his head. Thought not. I walked away from dad. Neal turned and raised an eyebrow. So, I'm assuming by how everyone is treating you, you did something. She snuck off when everyone thought she was sleeping. Hayes! That's why you were with the lost boys?!? I shrugged some and he shook his head. Emma came over and nodded. Alright let's go.

I was sitting there on a log Harry was talking to the other boys and laughing. Why aren't you enjoying the party? I looked at Felix who sat next to me. I wanna go home, to my father. Why would you want that? I went to say something but everything stopped when we heard a roar. What was that? I asked standing up. Felix, stood up and put a hand on my shoulder his eyes were big. The other boys stood very still, some prepared their weapons. Never beast. He muttered as it came out. SCATTER! I took off I stopped and looked back Felix was staying. Fel?!? Go! I'm right behind you! I took off into the woods.

We made it Neal's cave. He went digging through his stuff and I frowned some. I don't think we're going to find Pan's shadow in here mate. He explained what he was looking for was in fact the star map carved into the coconut. We hid it. I'll go grab it. I'll go with Emma. I said and we headed out. Emma looked at me some frowning. What? I asked and she shook her head. Just looking at you. Yeah, why? You just admitted to why you were a lost girl. So? I asked climbing up to grab the coconut. I just wanted to let you know, I don't think you're a mistake. She said as I came back down. I handed her the coconut and frowned. In fact I think you're here for some special reason. Thanks Em. I said smiling some but it hit it felt like someone had stabbed me in the stomach my smile dropped. But that doesn't change the truth. I said before we walked off. When we got back the tension in the cave was high. Here's your star map. It's not a star map, it's what we'll use to trap Pan's shadow. I frowned some. So, what's the next stop on this mission? Dad asked I looked over between dad and Neal as I had a weird feeling. Dark Hallow. Neal said and my stomach twisted. Rule two, don't go into dark hallow, unless you want to lose your shadow.  Really?!? Emma snapped. Why couldn't it have been called Sunshine Vally, or Rainbow Cove?!? Cause this isn't Walt Disney's version of Neverland, Emma. I said as I sometimes wished it was like that version. What exactly is it? Emma asked I shook my head some. Exactly what it sounds like. Dad stated and I looked down. The darkest part of the island. Any light that finds its way in, is snuffed out by the shadows that call it home. Even I managed to avoid it. Dad said and I shook my head. Can I go find Regina now? Hayes you're going with us. Dad said and I shook my head. No. Never. Hayes- we were told to never step foot in two places. One of them being the dark hallow. Neal said and I nodded. I made that mistake once but oh no, never again. Hayes, you either go willingly or I drag you. Dad- you aren't running off, and you aren't staying because we both know you will not stay put, so I'm sorry Caribbean, but you aren't going out to find Regina. I sighed some but didn't fight. I frowned more as Neal seemed off. Dad what did you do? I muttered and he shook his head. Nothing. Why do I not believe you? Trust me love, I didn't do anything. I rolled my eyes and walked out.
