Dani

It was going to storm. Spring was coming and we typically always had some sort of storm, but this one particularly felt worse than others. You could just look out side at the sky and know it was going to be bad. Bye Emma! I called as I was heading out of the apartment. Whoa hang on. I looked over and stepped in. Rain coat. I grabbed the dark red rain coat and put it on. Rain boots. I popped my regular shoes off and stuck my yellow rain boots on, then I put my sneakers in my bag. Ok I really gotta go now. I said walking out the door. Alright but behave AND RIDE THE BUS IF IT RAINS! Emma yelled after me as I closed the door.

So Henry was telling me all about the stranger who showed up in town. I looked over at him and frowned. Are you serious? I asked and he nodded. I mean Emma told me there was a stranger who had come into town but i didn't think- I stopped in front of my locker. Wow. I said opening it and grabbing my books for the next topic. Yeah it's really-I jumped as there was a loud roll of thunder and I looked out the window. Hey are you ok? I kept staring out the window.

Come on men! I came out from the hall and frowned. Father? What is it Hayes? And can it wait? I frowned some and he sighed. I'm sorry love there's a storm rolling in and I want to get those sails down before it hits. Like take them down completely? Folded and put into a storage chest. He said and I frowned harder. HAROLD! Father yelled as Harry slipped some, he caught him. Careful lad, that could have been terrible. I'm sorry, but I've done this loads of times. It doesn't matter how many times you've done it, you never become careless. He looked over. Hayes you and Harry start folding the sales, the rest of us will keep going. I looked over at Harry who looked angry at the fact he was taken off sale duty and put on the folding line.

After school I made a beeline for the sheriff's station. I ran in right as Emma stood. Hey. Hi. I said shivering she frowned. It's cold. I said and she started laughing. Ok well I gotta get a few things before the storm hits. I nodded and went out to the car with her. Ok, well I'm heading back. She looked at me frowning. I need to go grab something from- I stopped, Emma didn't know about my tree house. From Henry's. She frowned some but didn't fight me. Just be careful, and make sure you get back before the storm. You got it.

The rain had started, the waves were crashing over the side. I shook hair out of my face as it stuck to me with all the rain. TAKE COVER! one of the crew hands yelled as another wave was about to hit. HAYES! Harry ran over and slid grabbing me. His slide ended as we hit the boat wall he turned his back to the wave we got smacked with the force of it but we managed to stay aboard. HAYES, HARRY! We looked over at father standing up as he came over. The cabins, go to them. We started running but I turned as another wave came at us. Harry moved but I was frozen in place. HAYES MOVE! Father yelled, but it was too late. I got hit and swept overboard.

I went to the tree house and grabbed my shoe box of stuff I had collected. I shoved it into my backpack and started back. It would have been safer to go back to the main road, but when I got to  the fork in the road I stopped. One way would take me back to the main road and it would be a straight shot to town. The other trail would take me down by the beach and then it would be a climb back up and a 10 minute trek back to town. I didn't know what but something made me go down to the beach, like something took over and started walking in the direction of the beach. The minute I got a wiff of the salt water I started jogging. I kept hearing the one name over and over. Before I knew it I was running. I stopped in front of the water and sighed some shaking my head. I started walking up and got to the docks. I sat my backpack down on the dock and stood there looking out at the water and the sky. It looked nasty. Hey kid! I looked over at this guy who was on a motorcycle. You need to get away from there! I knew he was right but when I turned to grab my bag and walk away I slipped, losing my balance. I wanted to scream but all the came out was a gasp and I hit the water right as it lightened.

I tried to swim up and get some air. I would get a small gasp and then I'd get forced back down. I popped back up and realized I had drifted out away from the ship some. FATH- I got shoved back down. I resurfaced for a minute to hear something else hit the water, but then I got shoved back down, I don't know if it was from the lack of oxygen, or if something got stirred up and I hit my head on something hard, but things started to go black and I started sinking.

I felt someone's mouth on mine, but I felt a choking feeling. Breathe, Hayes. Wake up and breathe! I felt my whole body jolt and I coughed. I turned my head to the side as a bunch of water came up. Hey welcome back. I looked at the guy and frowned I'd never seen him, which meant this was the guy, the stranger. We gotta get you to the hospital. No, just no, I can't. Kid your blue. It's fine, I have asthma anyways. All more the reason to get you to a hospital. No, take me home my guardians would freak. He sighed. Alright.

Killian
I stood there, everything seemed to be in slow motion or severely echoed. Harry's crying and screaming seemed distant, and without a second thought I got tied to the Deadman's line and went in after her. She and Harry were the last things I had to remind me of Milah. Without Hayes things weren't bright, and cheerful. It was painful every single time she left, but it also was for the best. I saw her and got to her. She wasn't moving. I grabbed her and tugged on the rope and before I knew it I was back to the ship and laying her on deck. She was lifeless, she was turning blue. F-father? I looked at Harry. Try elevating her. I looked at the crew member who knelt in front of me, he pulled her up to a sitting position. Hold her head up. I locked my jaw, keeping the tears at bay. What are- applying pressure to the chest cavity and or stimulating it for a smaller child can help with things like this. He sighed some and opened her mouth and breathed. Come on Hayes, it's time to wake up. I muttered, before I felt her whole body just jolt. Water shot out and I let a shaky sigh out, about to cry. I didn't realize that I had been holding my breath. Daddy? I got you Hayes. I watched Harry ram into her hugging her  crying. I sighed and hugging both of them. Looks like the storms cleared. Hayes said looking over her brother's shoulder. Aye, it has.

Why are you stopping? Granny's is the closest I can go in this weather. He said getting off his bike, I got off and we ran in. Ruby looked over at me. What are- long story. Why are you wet, and slightly blue. Long story. I said going in the back to the bathroom. I closed the door and looked in the mirror. When the lighting hit I kept getting flashes. I was starting to believe Henry when he said there was a curse. I shuttered some and turned around to walk out of the bathroom but swore I heard someone calling the name, it sounded distant. I shook my head and walked out, Emma was sitting in a booth. Dani, what are- bad weather, remember? She frowned some but nodded as I sat down in front of her. Are you alright? I kinda nodded but truth be told I wasn't sure.

Emma

That night Dani fell asleep on the couch. She had come clean about what had happened. I can't believe she would jump into the water with lightning popping. Mary Margaret said and I sighed some. Well she has a soft spot for animals, she wasn't about to let that kitten drown. She nodded and went to her bed, and I went up to mine.

I woke up struggling to breathe. I sat up and stumbled over to my back pack which had my inhaler. I grabbed it and went to use it but it gave me a blank shot. I looked at the back and the red zero. How could I have been so stupid, and let it get that low AND empty before refilling it. I turned and started to Mary Margaret's bed which was down stairs but on the way I started to get dizzy and to collapse.

Emma
I shot up when I heard a loud thump. I turned my lamp on and started out of bed. EMMA! EMMA HELP! I ran down the stairs to Mary Margaret holding Dani who was wheezing. Her inhalers empty. Hang on Dani. I muttered picking her up and grabbing the bug keys. Just hang on. That was all I could say to her, I didn't know what else to say at that point.
