Everyone was pretty much on edge in the Lighthouse as the days went by. Daisy was now in the middle of her thirty-seventh week of pregnancy. She was full-term and was expected to go into labor any day now. Of course, no one was on edge as much as Daisy was during this time. She still had her fears about becoming a mother, especially now that the day was much closer than she first realized, but thanks to her team, she believed she could do it. She wasn't alone in doing this.
A couple of weeks after the hypertension incident, all of the agents had thrown Daisy a surprise baby shower. What surprised Daisy the most was to find out that May was the one who had put the entire party together. Daisy was gifted with a plethora of clothes, diapers, blankets, toys, bottles, pacifiers, and practically anything you could imagine needing for a newborn baby. Even things that Daisy didn't even think she would need she was given. Her favorite gift, by far, was the crib Mack had built himself. She definitely cried when he showed it to her. The crib was painted white with little daisies painted on the back, which were done by Yoyo, and the bedding inside was purple. It looked absolutely perfect in corner of her bunk next to the rocking chair another agent had gotten her.
As she got closer to full-term, some of the scientists had transformed one of the bunks on the same floor as the medbay into a delivery room with everything they could possibly need for the delivery. One feature they decided to put in was the walls that were used inside the containment rooms from the Playground. This was to help contain Daisy's powers to the room so that she didn't need the feel to suppress them when in labor, especially since they knew suppressing them could potentially cause more harm for Daisy and possibly the baby.
It was January 21st when things began to really pick up. Everyone was in the control center as they were observing some new anomalies that have been appearing. They weren't sure what these anomalies were just yet, but at the moment, they were looking into what could be similar between them. Agent Keller and Agent Fox have mentioned they had theories, but they needed more information and evidence before they could put it down as a proper hypothesis.
"What do you think these anomalies could be?" Elena asked Mack.
Mack shrugged. "It could literally be anything, but given our track record, I think we're prepared for anything." Yoyo nodded as Mack reached for his cup of coffee, which was probably a little cold by now since he had gotten it maybe two hours ago. Before placing his hand around the mug, he noticed that there were ripples in the coffee. Sure, this could have just been the vibrations of someone walking by, but the ripples in the cup were a little stronger and bigger than if it was just somebody walking by. He shrugged it off as he finally took a sip.
When he placed it back down, May, who was on the other side of him, looked up at him. "You noticed the ripples too, right?"
Mack raised his eyebrows. "Yeah. Why? Do you see something I don't?"
"I noticed the ripples start happening maybe an hour and a half ago, and I've been watching it since," May explained. "I haven't been exactly timing them, but earlier, they were maybe fifteen minutes apart. Now, I think they're around ten minutes apart."
"And you've been timing them because..." Mack asked. By now, Elena's attention had been caught, and she, too, wanted to know about the timing of the ripples.
May motioned with her eyes to the desk that was to the front corner of the room right next to the large monitor. Daisy was sitting there. As Dr. Powers guessed, she was pretty stubborn and didn't want to be locked up in her room all day. She did, however, follow her recommendation of only doing desk work. Since the incident, Daisy had followed this to a T, only doing codes and other easy things that didn't cause her too much stress. Today, she was looking over files as Mack had shown interest in starting up the Academy again.
