Daisy wasn't expecting to be met with a time loop when she first woke up. She wasn't too sure at first about living her real life Groundhog Day, but after a couple of go arounds, she was pretty much done with it. Daisy was even more shocked when she learned from Coulson that she had already died fifteen times and that they really needed to get back to the issue.
Daisy paced back and forth, thanking whatever force kept her alive. "Wait, I died!? Again?!"
Coulson looked pretty exasperated. He had went ahead and explained to Daisy his discoveries of someone cutting the gas pipes with the intent of someone dying, but he needed Daisy's head to be back in the game. "I know this is upsetting for you, but I really just want to get back to the part where we're solving this again. Not to minimize your pain."
Daisy shrugged. "Fair." They were racing against the clock, so that means they have even less time than they did before.
"You didn't happen to catch how close we are to the vortex this time around?" Coulson asked.
Daisy shook her head, trying to put herself back to earlier in the loop. "I think Deke said it was, like, forty-one kilometers."
"We're running out of time," Coulson stated. "And someone here is willing to kill."
"Just to keep us from unlocking Simmons' memory," Daisy finished for him. "I mean, I'd ask who, but it's hard to ignore the super obvious suspects."
Coulson nodded, knowing that there were only three people on the entire aircraft who actually knew about Jemma's memory-blocking implant.
It wasn't long before the two of them found themselves in the lab, across the table from Enoch, Deke, and Jemma. One of those three just had to know something. They explained to them what they've been through and that they needed to discuss something that no one else on Zephyr One knew about.
"So you know about the implant," Jemma started, already able to guess what Daisy and Coulson knew.
"Wait, what?" Deke asked surprised. "Did I tell you about it? Please say that wasn't me."
Daisy could almost laugh at Deke's outburst, assuming that he may have slipped up on accident about it, but Daisy knew she had to keep that to herself for now. "The how doesn't matter," Daisy spoke up. "What matters is that you guys are protecting a secret, and someone tried to kill for it."
The electricity sparked through the room as the walls continued to rattle. "And you think it was one of us?" Jemma questioned.
"To be fair, you were the one killed," Coulson told her. "So that makes you less of a suspect."
"Hang on," Deke interrupted "You think it was one of us?" he asked, motioning between him and Enoch.
"Yes, we want to protect Leopold Fitz," Enoch began. "But killing seems rather short-sided and counterproductive."
You're telling me, Daisy thought to herself. "If we get pulled into the vortex, we die too," Deke brought up.
"We know it doesn't make logical sense, but someone did it," Coulson stated.
"I just don't think they'd resort to such drastic measures," Jemma said. "I mean, it doesn't make sense."
Drastic measures like implanting yourself with an implant that blocks your memories? Daisy mentally asked. Like the know-how to get out of here? Or maybe the location of a four-month-old who is the daughter of a very worried mother?
Daisy and Coulson shared a look, not really going anywhere with Jemma, Deke, and Enoch. "Okay, I could look for answers elsewhere," Coulson told Daisy.
