The 70s were not at all what Daisy imagined them to be, but she seemed to be enjoying 1973 much better than 1931 or 1955. That said, she still wanted nothing to be back home in 2019. To be back home where she was familiar and where her baby girl was.
Like before, the team separated into smaller teams to inspect the area and time period. Jemma and Deke were ordered to stay on the Zephyr because Mack had wanted Deke to train a little more. If he were to be kidnapped by a Hydra boss another time, at least the next time he would be prepared. Mack and Yoyo went to the Lighthouse to see if anything's changed. Active duty was discontinued there in 1972, so it should be empty, but with the chronicoms at play, it was still possible that there would be people there. The last group - which consisted of Coulson, May, Daisy, and Sousa - were sent to the bar to find Enoch and bring him back to the Zephyr. Due to this group going out into the public in the middle of New York City, it was important that they got clothes to blend in.
Coulson and May went to one store while Daisy and Sousa went to a different one. Daisy was kind of confused when Sousa immediately volunteered to be a part of their group considering he had just been thrown into this time travel mess mere hours ago, but Daisy could also tell he was just itching to get out of Zephyr One. She was glad that he was coming along though. It was nice to spend a little more time with the SHIELD legend.
Daisy stared at her reflection, reviewing the outfit she had chosen for herself in the window of the shop. She had on a pair of heels, bell-bottoms, a white blouse, and a plaid jacket. She had to say that she was quite enjoying the fashion of the 1970s.
She heard Coulson and May approaching from behind her. "Hey, looking sharp!" Coulson called out, complimenting her outfit.
Daisy's hands found their way into the pockets of her jeans. "Thanks," she replied. She smiled as she found Coulson and May's outfits to be pretty cool too.
"Where's Agent Sousa?" Coulson asked.
"He's still inside picking out his threads."
"How's he handling the transition?" May asked.
"Honestly, the fact that he's not projectile vomiting from the shock is a miracle," Daisy remarked. She remembered when they time traveled for the first time to 2091, the different atmosphere of space was messing with her powers so bad that it made her feel sick to her stomach, and she may or may not have thrown up real quick before reuniting with the team, their familiar vibrations bringing her back to a neutral field.
Right then, Sousa exited the store, still wearing the same suit and tie he had been wearing when they picked him up. He didn't seem to be satisfied with the time period at all. "What happened to blending in?" Daisy questioned.
Sousa shook his head nervously. "I just don't understand the functional appeal to those... elephant... pants," he said, motioning to the bottoms of Daisy's jeans.
"You mean the bell bottoms?"
"Sure," Sousa said. "How do people in your time function with all the extra fabric around their feet?"
"I got news for you," Coulson started. "This isn't actually our time period."
And believe it or not, people are actually wearing less clothing in our time period, Daisy thought to herself, but felt Sousa wasn't ready to hear that just yet. Might give him an aneurysm or something. She still decided to cheer him up a little bit. "Well, unfortunately, there's unfashionable squares in every decade, so you are... set." I really hope that didn't come out bad.
Sousa continued to take in the scenery and the people around them. "And nobody seems to look you in the eye now," he pointed out.
"Hmm. Wait till they all get cellphones," May added as the group began walking towards the bar.
