Mack, Daisy, and Elena didn't really have much of a plan on what to do next. The Zephyr was surrounded by zombies, and they didn't have many options on what to do. They hadn't heard anything from May or Sarge in regards to the whole Izel situation. Unfortunately, they were oblivious to what had just happened at the temple mere seconds ago. They figured their next course of action was to contact Fitzsimmons since they had a visual of inside the temple.

Daisy went onto her comms device. "Fitzsimmons, do you read?" she asked into the device. "We are pinned down. They've breached Zephyr One. Any word back from the temple?" There was a moment of silence. Confusion grew within Daisy. Fitzsimmons usually answered back right away. What was going on? They needed to get out of there. Now. "Control, do you read?"

Fitz's shaky voice came through from the other end. "May's down."

Daisy's heart dropped into her stomach. Of all the things they could've told her, that was definitely not one she was expecting. Mack and Yoyo, who were standing in the room, looked at each other with both sadness and shock. Daisy could feel her breathing start to pick up like her chest was closing in on her lungs. It couldn't be true. It just couldn't. She's fucking Melinda May. The cavalry. How could she be... "What?" She felt the familiar burn of tears behind her eyes began to build up, but Daisy wasn't about to let them fall until she knew for sure what was going on.

Jemma's equally shaky voice came over. "Sarge, he..."  The scientist was having a hard time keeping it together. "He stabbed May. She's gone, Daisy." It was very prominent in her voice that breaking this news to Daisy was breaking her. May made a huge impact in all of their lives, but they also knew just what the older agent meant to Daisy.

"That's not possible," Daisy tried to argue, having a really hard time believing it herself. "That-"

"We saw it with our own eyes," Fitz added.

A part of Daisy didn't want to believe a single word Fitzsimmons were saying to her. They had to be kidding. They just had to be. However, the larger part of her knew that they would never joke about something as big as May being taken out in the field. Their voices were broken. The larger part of Daisy knew that this was the truth.

May was gone.

Instantly, Daisy shut off the communication device as she sat back down into her seat in the meeting room on Zephyr One. She closed her eyes, letting the hot tears stream down her face. Daisy allowed herself to cry as Elena and Mack stood there in silence, the weight of the news affecting them as well.

May was supposed to always be there for her. She promised. She had always been there for her in the past.

"I'm gonna mine it, save it... and when we find Ward, I'm gonna use every bit of it to take him down."

"You can do it, Skye. I believe in you."

"Listen to me... just me. We can do this. You can do this."

"You did good today. You led them well."

"You don't get to choose who cares about you."

"If you can change the future, you can change it back from home."

"You have a huge heart that cares, and you always put others before yourself. You also have a want to protect those you love. That's all a child could ever ask for in a parent."

"Daisy, you are the strongest person I've ever known."

May had been her rock for years. Daisy couldn't imagine her life without May. Without her mom. All those times when Daisy was doubting herself, May would always help to lift her up.  Even if that lifting up had a bit of sternness to it, there was always love in May's voice towards Daisy.
