In 2 weeks mating day shall arrive, and thus also the day to invade Geara.
By King Thaksin's request, lots of trees were being chopped down to use as wood for the giant horse they were going to build.
Kohl had 2 remaining weeks to train Oprela's best men, to become better warriors--though as good as Gearians, they'd probably never be.
For the last few days, this was also the only thing that Kohl had been doing. From early morning till late afternoon. The people in Oprela thought he was a hired ex-soldier to train them to be better.
Arya was a bit bored. Kohl was busy and she had no friend now Brianna wasn't there with her. She could only hope that her friend was safe, back in Geara. She looked at his bracelet, thinking back about what Kohl had done to get it in her possession again. Maybe the Gearians weren't as bad as they seemed to be. Arya could only try to hold on to that thought, having Brianna's well-being on her mind.
She was also bored because the desire of being pampered all day long was long gone since she had spent some time taking care of herself. She just wasn't the same person anymore.
And she missed Mira.
From her room's window, she could catch a glimpse of Kohl and the training soldiers. Kohl had promised to train with her at the end of the day, just the two of them. It has been a few days since Arya picked up the bow and arrow.
She also couldn't go past the castle walls because her father wouldn't let her. The castle itself and courtyard and gardens were pretty much all she could visit. Since she had come back to her birth land, her father was being overprotective.
Yesterday, the older king broke down in tears and asked for her forgiveness. Thaksin said that he knew he was selfish by not giving up his throne to Kohl after the tournament and wedding. He should have done that so his daughter could stay with him and stay in Oprela, her home.
Arya had forgiven her father right away. She loved the man, even though she admitted that she was slightly disappointed in her father back then.
When all of this was over, and Kohl was ruler over Geara again, Thaksin would let the couple decide if they wanted to rule over Oprela as well, or if they would rather wait for that.
She watched Kohl drill the other alphas and she just couldn't wait for the afternoon to come, it would be the highlight of her day.
Arya didn't understand why Kohl hadn't made any advances yet. She'd told him that her words were harsh that day when they visited the blacksmith. And she'd said she was sorry. So...why wasn't the alpha begging for her body anymore? Arya expected Kohl to start about the '2 days in a week' rule straight again.
She actually thought about canceling that rule...
But the truth was, Kohl didn't even ask for it, he asked for nothing. Was the alpha done with her already?
Every time she smelled Kohl's heavy tangy scent, she could feel his mark burn in her neck. Kohl must have sensed her scent as well. There was no way the alpha could have missed her need.
Arya just didn't get it...

"Do you think Arya made it?" Brianna asked Aema. She was so scared for her friend. Arya was in her mind every hour of the day.
"I hope so." Aema wished he had a better answer, but he hadn't.
They laid in bed again, their bodies naked and entangled together. They snuck out during the days whenever they had the time.
