"Can I hold you? Please, just once...?"
What was he supposed to say? This woman gave her life for his, so Pascal just nodded and stood like a statue when his...mother... hugged him. It felt strange.
"I wish I could turn back time for you, but sadly I can't. What you both did was wrong, but I think you both realize this yourselves already. I can't say I understand why you made a decision like this, but I can see that I understand that your life hasn't been easy either Pascal. And I hope you can be happy from now on. You and your mate. Of course, I deeply hope that Kohl one day will forgive you both."
Pascal laid with Ezra in his arms, thinking about all that had happened this week. It all seemed like a dream. He just heard from Kohl that he had to leave his homeland, never to return. He couldn't believe his brother really spared his life. He had only hoped that his beloved Ezra was spared, but apparently, Kohl was merciful enough to let them both go. That woman, his mother, really played it smart.
He didn't say a word to her, that last goodbye, and he regretted that now. They say that regret always comes later and that was true. He regretted many things, but it was all too late.
The door of their cell opened again. This time, there were two guards, telling them they could go.
"Don't forget the letters," Ezra reminded Pascal.
"I have them here," Pascal tapped on his pocket.
They walked out, on their way to a carriage that would take them to Moonia, where they could start over.
Start a new life.

"So... I noticed that you've been sitting beside my bed this whole week. You already have the hots for me or what?"
Kieran rolled his eyes. If he had known that this Magnus guy would be such a pain in the butt, he wouldn't have stayed beside his bed at all. And he certainly did not stay because he had the hots for him.
"I sat beside you because I owe you. But since you are awake most of the time now, and obviously in a state to make jokes, I might as well leave right now, instead of tomorrow," Kieran stood up, but a strong hand grabbed his wrist, making him sit down again.
"You can't leave, someone must feed me. And what are you talking about? Are you planning on leaving tomorrow?" Magnus asked. He didn't like the sound of that. The younger alpha kind of grew on him.
"I feel you can perfectly feed yourself, you're not an infant."
"Well, you still owe me. I saved your life, you sat by my bed for one week. How are we even?"
Kieran looked at Magnus with one brow raised, "What would I have to do to get even?"
"I think you should stay longer."
"I can't. King Thaksin will leave tomorrow and I have to return to Oprela with my King."
Magnus pouted. He never found another alpha cute, but he found this one cute. Why did he have to live in another kingdom and leave so soon? Magnus couldn't even show him his great skills, with this stupid wounded shoulder. And by God, wasn't he the greatest when it came to working with his hands?
"Well, can you promise me to come by again someday? A promise made in Geara is a promise you must keep."
Kieran smiled. "Ok, I promise. Are you sure it's not you who has the hots for me?" he asked boldly.
Magnus smirked. Did Kieran think he wouldn't admit it? He is Magnus! And Magnus was never ashamed of anything, certainly not for admitting his feelings.
