When she woke up, it felt cold in bed. Arya searched for her mate, but nobody laid beside her.

She yawned, stretched, and sat up straight. After rubbing her eyes, she finally stood up. It felt good to sleep in. She needed that sometimes. It was probably late because the sun stood high already, shining in the bedroom.

She threw on some clothes and went outside, to the place she knew her husband would be. And she was right, she found him in the arena.

"Aah!" Kohl yelled. "Straight into my heart!" he grunted and fell to the ground with a wooden sword pinned under his armpit.

When he laid down in the dirt, a little foot was pressed against his throat. "Die, you evil King," a little voice said.

Kohl closed his eyes and hung his tongue out of his mouth, lying completely still.

Two little hands then squeezed his cheeks and tried to pry open his eyes. "Daddy, I know you're not really dead."

Arya shook her head and rolled her eyes. Their little princess might look like her, but she definitely had the personality of her alpha father. No fascination for gardens, butterflies, or flowers with that little girl. Oh, no. Only fighting, rolling around in the mud, and catching stink bugs!

"I am, I have a sword in my heart. You have to kiss me to wake me up," Kohl replied.

"Ok," Mira said and she pressed her lips against her father's.

He rolled her around and tickled her belly, "Haha! I fooled you. Now I win," Kohl laughed.

"Daddy, not fair!" Mira laughed and whined. She then noticed Arya. "Mommy!"

"Did you sleep well, baby?" Arya asked. Mira nodded while she ran to her mother and jumped on her back. "Have you and daddy eaten?"

"We did, I ate a lot. Can I play with Uncle Magnus now?" she impatiently asked.

Arya laughed. Mira had a little bit of a crush on Magnus. Too bad for her the man was already taken by someone else.

"No, he is still away. He's helping to build the new castle, just like all your other uncles do, remember? You don't seem to miss them as much as you miss Magnus?"

"Ohhh," Mira whined. "Still gone? And I don't miss them, I only miss Uncle Magnus."

Kohl chuckled in the background.

"Ahh, poor Kieran and especially poor Aema and Brianna. Those two think you favor them as your most beloved uncle and aunt. I guess, for now, you can play with Wolf instead of Magnus."

Wolf was Inoa's youngest son. He was seven years old, one year older than Mira was. He would soon start his training. Arya was a little sad for her daughter. Wolf was her best friend and when he joined the army for training, he wouldn't have time to play with her.

But that's life.

"Ok, I will! I like Wolf too."

"Good. Stay inside the garden walls this time, before you scare me to death again. You remember how scared I was when you disappeared last time?"

"Ok, mommy, I will!" Mira yelled, already half gone. "Bye mommy, bye daddy!"

Arya sighed. She then felt two hands wrapped around her waist, hugging her from behind. "How are you?" Kohl whispered in her ear while his hands caressed her belly.

"Fine."

"No more nauseousness?"

"For the nth time, no, I feel fine. Will you leave to go help the others today?"
