It was quiet in the woods except for sounds coming from the chirping birds and the rustling leaves. The sky was grey with ominous clouds. Arya prayed it wouldn't rain cause she didn't want to get back to Kohl too soon. It would look stupid to go back within 10 minutes, with the way she left--cursing Kohl and stomping her feet.
Her husband should feel that she was truly angry this time.
Was it so hard for the alpha to just have a normal conversation? What was wrong with that man? Arya fake laughed. "Well, you wouldn't know, would you, Arya? Because he doesn't talk. Stupid alpha," she mumbled to herself.
Every day, she pitied the fact that Kohl won the tournament and not the good king Leandros. How would her life be like if that would have been the case? Maybe she would be happy in a faraway kingdom. Maybe she would feel loved.
She certainly would not have to live the life that she lived today. No love, no conversation, no connection. Nothing! They didn't even have a kingdom anymore. She knew she couldn't blame that on Kohl, but still!
She thought back about her words--the ones she just shouted at Kohl before she had walked out of the door. Would it really be better to just be dead? These were just dark times, maybe it would get better. Arya had to believe in that. But she knew that something definitely needed to change and that something was Kohl. If he wouldn't change, then Arya was going to be ice cold too.
In Oprela, Kohl had no rights anyway. Arya could just keep her husband as a prisoner in the tower of the castle...the rest of the world thought that the man was dead anyway. Only Mira knew that Kohl had survived and Arya trusted her with her life. With Kohl vanished from her side, she could live a better life. It would be her and her father, just like the old days.
Would it be possible? The thought alone made her inner omega deeply hurt. Maybe there was a way to break the bond first? She had heard about that once. She knew she was never going to be happy when her inner omega made her feel guilty all day long.
Arya sighed when she felt a raindrop against her face and a few minutes later, the sky cried. Big, fat raindrops fell down, soaking her.
Luckily, Arya was able to find some shelter underneath a big tree. Most drops didn't come through the roof of leaves.
When the rain finally stopped, the sun was setting already. Arya didn't know how long she had sheltered, but it felt like hours. After her walk, she was lost. Literally, this time, not only mentally. She must have taken a wrong turn somewhere. When she found herself on top of a cliff, she wanted to turn back, until her eyes fell on something. On the edge of the cliff, she saw some mushrooms growing.
Mira had taught her all about herbs, vegetables but also about mushrooms in these past days they had waited for Kohl to wake up. She was a quick learner because she liked to learn. She was a hundred percent sure that these mushrooms were edible. They looked so fat and juicy, she couldn't resist the temptation to pick them. She could cook them tomorrow! So, she took a couple of steps towards the edge and crouched down, reaching her arms as far as she could since she didn't want to be too close to the edge with the risk she could fall.
She plucked some mushrooms, laid them near her feet, and when she was done, she stood up to leave but something didn't feel right... She felt the ground move under her feet as a piece of the cliff broke off! Arya fell.

"I want to start my training soon. When can I start again?" Aema asked Inoa as she rubbed some ointment on his healing back.
"Training? Your wounds are just closed. If you start training now, they will burst back open and we have to start all over again. Are you insane?!" Inoa asked, flabbergasted. The man's back was just beginning to heal!
