Sorry for the late update I had the worst writer's block on how to proceed with the story. I still do to be honest, like I don't like fillers in any story. It was hard to come around this. So even though this may look like a filler, it's not.

The mostly quiet lab room had an audible clinking of glass or the sound of a drop being placed under the microscope. Donnie was experimenting with your blood that he took out days prior to the incident with mutagen one last time. It was giving all sort of implications but now he's close to an answer.

He had found an alarming amount of mutagen canisters from the worm portal area underground. It was enough to continue experimenting, thus the reason he was searching for the cure once more.

"Donnie, what is my blood supposed to do with the mutagen anyway?"

"Turn the sporadic mutant cells into normal cells."

"Uhh, ok. And how's that going?"

"......Stranggeee?" he says as he looks under the microscope.

"Lemme see." you peer into the microscope lens. As you watch the red blood cells, they bounce around and become perfect spheres, as human cells should but then they multiply, covering the entire area in red color. "What the-"

"This isn't the first time it happened. Although your blood reverted the mutant cells to normal ones, they started to duplicate at an exponential rate, more so than any human. It explains why you heal faster than others, your blood has enhanced adaptability- it's like an evolution of sorts."

"So do you know what I am then?" you ask wondering if there's a scientific term to your yokai situation without telling him. 'Luckily he's looking at an old sample and not my current blood.'

"You are what most scientists strive to achieve in human biology, an enhanced species of human, stronger, or better to endure physical attacks."

'Human'

"How often do you get sick?" He asks.

"Not a lot unless I eat Mikey's anchovy pizza."

"Anyone would. But that clears it, you're a mutant (y/n)."

'Mutant.'

"...I see. And this won't help with your mutagen?"

"No. The reaction of your blood with normal humans can cause unstable DNA, so whoever takes the retro mutagen has a high chance of dying... Sorry (y/n)."

"It's alright Donnie, maybe try April's DNA she is part Krang and human, a balance of both worlds."

"Why didn't I think of that!? Thanks!" he gets back to work.

"No problem D, I hope you can find the answer and make sure to take breaks

"No problem D, I hope you can find the answer and make sure to take breaks." you scold the last bit, he laughs, and nods.

"Have you thought about when you'll ask Leo out?"
