I listen carefully, waiting for Samantha's footsteps to completely disappear from my range of hearing. My fingers part from Elliot's and I gain some distance between us. The future Alpha senses my tension and his hazel eyes avoid my own.

"Can't count the girls you've been with?" I mock, narrowing my icy blue eyes at him. I can smell the guilt that washes over my mate, which makes me scrunch my nose in disgust. He doesn't have the right to feel guilty about this.

"When did you want to uncover your man whore past to me?" I hiss and he actually winces at my tone of voice. Elliot's hazel eyes look up to me, the green in them shining a duller color. I notice how his lips are pressed tightly and I sense that he's not going to speak.

I grit my teeth together and turn on my heel, ready to head back to the school and wait for the last bell to ring so I could get a ride back home. But his hand catches my wrist and his sudden habit of stopping me bites at my last nerves. He spins me around to face him, my teeth still gritted in anger.

"They didn't mean anything to me. I was just fooling around to get on my dad's nerves and because I was bored." Elliot's answer fuels the anger that is already boiling in my veins; like throwing gasoline on fire. I tear my hand out of his hold, widening my eyes at him in anger. "Boohoo! Elliot King is bored so he'll just whip it out for the next girl that comes around!" I hiss, taking a few steps away from him.

My mate's gaze, that was wrecked with guilt, suddenly shift into a look of confusion. I think he has to repeat my words in his head in order to figure out what I actually said.

"Wait. You think I was... you think I had sex with all of them?" His voice is consumed with shock and I hear my wolf groan in my head. I take another step back, my own look of confusion coming to rest on my face. Elliot takes two steps forward to me and I take another step back. It's like a cat and mouse game, with him being the cat that tries to catch the mouse, in other words me.

A sudden mischievous smirk forms on his beautiful face, like he'd be enjoying this little game we're playing.

"You're jealous." Elliot concludes, which makes me press my lips together. I really don't want to have this conversation with him right now. "No, I'm not." I hiss back, wanting to head away from him and show him we are done talking. "You are jealous." He repeats, catching my step and appearing right next to my figure.

He's enjoying this way too much, I think. I scrunch my nose at him again, showing off my irritation. But Elliot seems to enjoy my irritation, his smirk growing into a smile. He takes one long step to come before me and spins around, his nose almost touching my forehead.

"You think I was in bed with every girl I hooked up with?" My mate asks and I take a step away from him, the leaves crunching under my feet. I want to maintain distance between us, not wanting to get trapped by his sweet scent. "I don't freaking care. All I know is that you're an even bigger whore than Tyler. And my brother is a huge slut for attention already." My comment makes Elliot laugh and I notice he's not taking my insults to heart. He's shrugging them off like we'd be joking right now.

"How can you be such a dick to get together with a random girl and not save yourself for your mate." I shake my head, contradicting what I said just seconds before, about how I don't care.

Elliot's amusement subsides when he notices the hurt expression in my eyes. He actually becomes serious, just like that time at the well, where he practically ignored me. A stoic expression pulls at his beautiful features, while I huff.

"I don't know why I'm still talking to you." I mumble and turn away from him to head back to the school. But I hear his movements before they happen, hearing every joint in his body moving and every muscle flexing. But still I was too slow to stop him.
