My tired body drags up the stairs. The whole day was exhausting, talking to my friends about the pack and teaching them everything about us. Talking to the two Alphas about their protection and what our next move for the war is going to be. I feel like if I hit my bed right now I'll be knocked out the second my head makes contact with the pillow.

An arm suddenly snakes around my waist and I startle, looking over my shoulder to see who it is. Elliot pulls my figure away from the side of the house my room is located at and tugs me to where his room is. I realize that I didn't even hear him walking behind me from the exhaustion.

"Stay with me tonight." His voice is a soft murmur and I become twice as sleepy as he talks like that. This guy could make me fall asleep by just talking to me in that voice right now.

I let myself be dragged to his room, unable to protest against him. He nudges his door open with his foot, his arms still secured around my waist, keeping me flush against him. I enjoy how his warmth and scent engulf me in an embrace. He closes the door the same way he opened it, pushing his heel against the wooden surface and letting it close with a soft click.

Elliot finally lets me go and I head to the bed, crawling on top of it and falling on his pillows with a loud sigh leaving my lips. I can see a soft smile gracing his lips as he watches me lay there. My eyes start to automatically shut and I feel the drowsiness pull at me, making me feel like I'm falling on the bed. I can hear my mate move around his room, before the bed dips a little and his figure lays down beside me.

I feel one of his arms rest over my figure, pulling me further into him until I'm completely snuggled into his chest.

"You think Thomas is going to tell your father about Natalie?" His lips move against my forehead when he speaks. After the question leaves his mouth he plants a soft kiss to my forehead, which makes me open my eyes to look at him.

"He'll eventually have to." I mumble, my fingers curling into the soft fabric of Elliot's shirt, clutching it into my fist. He hums quietly, his bright hazel eyes looking over my figure at his wardrobe. It's finally filled with his clothes that were once sitting in the duffle bag Max brought them in.

I feel myself slowly drift away, my eyes closing again and slumber starting to tug me into the dream world, when Elliot speaks up again. My eyebrows furrow in annoyance at his voice bringing me back from my sleep and I have to blink a couple of times to actually recognize the words he spoke.

"Is your heart still open for me?" His voice is so soft that it's almost unheard. I have to look up at him to see how he avoids my eyes, which makes me confirm that that is the question I've heard. My fingers unclench his shirt and I smooth out the wrinkles on his chest, which makes Elliot look down to my hand that's running over his chest.

"It is. I'm trying to get accustomed to the idea I can trust you." I answer, closing my eyes and breathing in his scent. It's so overwhelming it makes my wolf whimper.

Elliot stays quiet for some time and I actually think he fell asleep, until I feel him shift a little. I lift my head up to see him roll over on his back, his eyes wide open and staring at the ceiling. I get concerned seeing him like this, mindlessly staring at the ceiling.

"That one day finally passed..." His voice trails off and I give him a confused look before I realize what's he talking about. I lift my head up from the pillows and prop myself up with my elbow to see his face better. Elliot's eyes move to look at me before he turns them back to the ceiling.

"It's time you get to know me." He mumbles, sadness lingering in the air all of a suddenly. It almost makes me want to tell him to forget about it, but I stop myself. I deserve to know his past, just like he deserved to know mine.
