When we get to the secluded suburban area of the Polaris pack, I feel my insides twist. I can smell blood in the area and the Healers of the pack were running from their houses to the pack house, almost bumping into each other on the way. Chaos overruled the situation, werewolves running around like headless chickens and numerous orders were shouted over the streets. Nobody even took notice of Elliot being next to me, completely covered in blood and most likely with a shattered ulna.

The adrenaline has finally let go of his body and he's gritting his teeth tightly together in order to overcome the painful situation.

I notice how Mary comes out of the pack house, running across the street and to her house, but I catch up to her before she could disappear inside it.

"Mary!" I call for her, the female werewolf turning around at my shout. Her eyes gloss over at the sight of me and when I come close, she engulfs me in a tight bear hug. "Oh god, I'm so glad to see you safe." She murmurs into my hair, her arms almost squeezing the life out of me. I hug her back, letting myself relax in her arms. I'm safe, now that I'm in her hug.

"H-hate to ruin... your reunion..." I hear Elliot stammer behind me, making me pull back from Mary's hug. The Beta tenses at the sight of Elliot King in our territory, but her face seems to pale at the sight of him. My mate is completely covered in blood, his right arm almost unseen from the crimson liquid.

I notice how his eyes suddenly roll into the back of his head and my own legs carry me to him without even thinking about my movements. My arms wrap around his body as he collapses, his head pressing against my chest.

"Mary, you have to help him!" My voice is laced with panic, as I see how my mate blacks out from the blood loss. The Beta doesn't move from her spot, which makes me look up to her frozen frame. "Mary! Please!" Her face is still frozen in a shocked expression, as I start to shake Elliot, trying to wake him up.

"Mary, please! He lost too much blood already!" Tears start to fill my eyes and I feel my throat close in on me. My hands shake as I brush away Elliot's hair from his face, before my panicked eyes look back at the Beta. "Please, he's my mate..."

Those words seem to strike something in Mary, which makes her turn her head to the house and shout for her own mate.

"Mike! Get down here, I need your help!" She shouts, running over to where I sit on the ground with Elliot's unconscious body leaned on me. Her eyes quickly scan the damage that has been done to him, before she pulls the belt out of her pants and clips it around Elliot's right arm tightly.

By then, Mike rushes down the stairs. Alec's father is a forty-three year old man, with brown, slowly greying hair and dark brown eyes. Alec is almost a perfect picture of his older man, though his father is trying to grow a beard now.

"What's going on?" Mike asks, which makes Mary look up to her mate. "We have to get him inside so I can take care of him." She orders the male, but I notice how he halts as well, when he lays eyes on Elliot King himself.

"Mike, please." I plead, his dark brown eyes looking over to where I sit. He nods and takes Elliot from my lap, lifting him up in his arms. Mary follows quickly after him into the house, while I scramble on my shaking feet to head after them. But the female Beta blocks the entrance to their house with her body, looking into my blue eyes.

"Honey, I think you should go to the pack house and talk to your father. He's been worried sick ever since you disappeared." My heart sinks into my stomach as she says those words and I frantically start shaking my head. "No, no. I have to be with him." I tell her, trying to push past her body, but she doesn't let me go through. "We need space to work on him, Mack. He's in good hands." Mary's warm hands grip my shoulders, squeezing them to stop me from panicking. Her brown eyes look down at my wounded hand and she gives me a soft look. "Go into the pack house. One of the Healers there is going to take care of you."
