If I wouldn't know any better, I would have said that Charlotte and Rebecca would become best friends, since they both have such toxic personalities. But I knew better than that. Every girl that threatens Charlie's existence gets on her black list. And Rebecca was just one of those people who didn't give a shit about some prima donna at our school.
I sit down at our usual table in the cafeteria, my appetite for today completely gone after first period. And knowing that Sean's revenge plan is coming with full speed right now didn't give me any satisfaction.
"He apologized and smiled?" Sam asks in a hushed tone, her eyes wide open. Thomas seems to wear the same look of shock as the former female Rouge. "Looked directly at Mack and smiled." Alec explains, making Sam turn to me. I didn't look up from my pasta, using the fork to push the spaghetti from one side of the plate and to the other.
"He smiled at you?" She encounters and I just shrug my shoulders. "Don't know, don't care." I mumble out, finally looking up to see Natalie and Paul walking our way. They sit down across from me and Nat starts babbling about something that happened in Spanish today, while Paul bumps Thomas's fist.
Alec sits up suddenly, alerting me as well. I look to him, watching as his eyes look past my shoulder. Sam notices as well and we both simultaneously turn around to see what's happening behind us.
"Nat." Alec's voice is strained and now I understand why. "Huh?" My best friend mumbles. "Isn't that your sister?" The question makes the rest of our table turn to where me and Sam are already looking at. Nat's older sister, Norrie, is standing in front of Charlotte. The supposable queen bee has a smug expression on her face and Norrie has her eyes narrowed at her, holding up her plate full of pasta.
"Oh no." Natalie whines and I can hear her chair scrape against the floor. Charlotte tips Norrie's tray, the plate full of pasta sliding across it and towards Norrie.
Rebecca's movements are so quick that the normal human eye couldn't even detect them. She grabs a hold of Norrie's plate before it could spill the whole pasta on to her shirt and smashes the plate full of pasta into Charlie's face. My lips part in shock, as she lowers the plate, the orange and red sauce staining Charlotte's face and white shirt. The spaghetti gets caught in her hair, shirt and jacket.
"Why don't you pick on somebody your own size?" Rebecca's voice dances through the now silent cafeteria. Everybody is staring at her and Charlotte, who seems to be too shocked to comprehend what has just happened to her.
Natalie gets to Norrie and pulls her by the arm to our table, which is considered safe haven for now. Charlie suddenly shrieks so loud, that my wolf senses become a curse. I notice Elliot wince at Charlie's pitched scream, before he shakes his head in disappointment at Rebecca.
"Did... She just hand Charlotte's ass?" Sam asks me and I nod wordlessly, still too perplexed at what just happened. She really doesn't give a shit about high school status.
"Who is she?" Norrie asks, her dark brown eyes wide. Norrie is in the same class as my twin brothers and she almost looks like the exact copy of Nat. Just take Natalie's highlights away and you have Norrie Morris. "New transfer. Rebecca King." Paul tells Norrie, as she sits down between him and Natalie.
"You fucking bitch!" Charlie is still screaming, but the smug smile from Rebecca's face doesn't disappear. "Oh, please stop calling me a bitch. You're going to make me cry." She says in a fake sad voice, before the smile breaks on her face again. The male that is always with the siblings grabs Rebecca's arm and tugs her back. I hear Samantha growl quietly next to me, making me look to her.
"That's Max Kelly." She answers my unspoken question. "Kelly?" Thomas asks from the other side of her, making the former Rouge nod. "Yeah. My super prideful and high ranked cousin." She explains and presses her lips tightly together, before turning away from the scene. I watch as Rebecca let's Max pull her away from Charlotte, who is threating her.
