Man, summer at a villa. It's everyone's dream, right? WRONG. This summer was the worst summer ever. After Sondra had taken me to the Hospital, (and after Sondra had brought me every kind of medicine the doctor requested.) Umm, I don't need medicine, I'm fine. I've told this to Sondra a million times but she insisted.
"It'll just be a waste of money and time." I would grumble under my breath. Zendaya would always say, "Oh, don't be such a grumpy-pants, it'll be fun! We get to spend the whole summer together! Think about that!" Then she would twirl around and around and around. Zendaya has taken ballet since she was three so she's good. I've learned a lot about Zendaya during the first few days. One day, I was just sitting on the sofa when a big ball of fur jumped on the sofa, I shrieked. Blake came rushing in, "What's wrong?" he asked,
"Wha-what is that?" I ask pointing to the ball of fur,
"Ohh, that's Everest, our snowcat," Blake laughs,
"You have a snowcat??" I shriek again.
"Yes, haven't you noticed her around," Blake asks,
"Does it look like I've seen her before?" I ask.
Blake sighs, then he walks to me, kisses me on the forehead, and leaves the room.
Then Sondra comes in and sits next to me,
"Kenzi, honey, I got you a drink, you look a bit, off." She says.
"Thanks," I say, then I stand up, "I'm going to my bedroom, okay?"
"Okay, take your drink with you," Sondra says, getting up too and leaving the room.
I nod, get up, and take the drink off the table, then, I ran to the elevator and got lifted onto the 4th floor. As I sink into bed, my stomach turns. Ouch. I think I have a stomach ache. I didn't expect this but the first night of summer vacation, I spent it in the bathroom, throwing up.
At around 3a.m, Sondra looks dreadful, she has stayed up with me the whole time, but I still didn't stop puking.
"Honey, let's call an ambulance, you look bad," Sondra says,
"I'm so sorry," I say, "About all this,"
Sondra didn't seem to notice what I said but hurried to dial 911 and as the ambulance raced up the mountain and put me on the roller bed, Sondra was holding my hand as Blake explained what had happened to the doctors. Zendaya has woken up too and insisted that she came to the hospital too.
"No, honey," Blake says, "It's too early, you're supposed to be in bed."
"But Kenzi needs me! She does, don't you Kenzi?" Zendaya asks me.
"Don't talk to Kenzi," Sondra says, "She's really tired, let her sleep in the car, and Blake, just let Zen come, it'll be fine."
"Yay! Thank you, mother!" Zendaya squeals
Sondra holds a hand to her lips in a shush gesture. "What did I say about letting Kenzi rest?"
"Oops, sorry, let's go." Zendaya hurried to the ambulance with Sondra and Blake, and off we went to the hospital.
"It's going to be okay, honey," Blake says.
I couldn't do anything because I was so tired. Then I felt the world swirl around me. I felt dizzy and sick, like the time I got separated from Luna.
I have a headache.
