Chapter 53: My Step-Aunt-Kenzi (NotCherry)

As some of you might know, I am a HUGE hp fan. So in this chapter and chapter 57, there are a few hp moments. This credit all goes to J.K. Rowling.

"Who?" I ask

"Aunt Kristin," Sondra clarifies, "She's my sister."

"She's staying here for the week?" I ask

"Yes," Sondra says, "She's very nice, right Zen?"

Zendaya looks up, her mouth full, she nods, "Yeah, right."

But she doesn't look very happy.

"She and her husband and their son, Will." Sondra says

"Great!" I say, "It'll be fun."

Sondra nods "Fantastic!"

Back in my room, I'm getting ready for meeting Aunt Kristin when my door opens. Zendaya comes in.

"Hi!" I say

"Hi," she says, "I was coming here to warn you about Aunt Kristin."

"Warn?" I ask, "She seems really nice."

Zendaya rolls her eyes, "Sure, she seems nice, but once you get to know her, she's awful."

I sigh, "Then, tell me about her."

Zendaya sits on my bed, "Okay, so first, she has a ton of rules. Like 'no talking with your mouth full', like I would ever even talk with my mouth full." then she seems to think back about the compliment she had made at dinner and adds, "Most of the time."

I laugh

"Anyways," she says, "There're also, 'no washing your food down with any beverage', and 'You have to drink a sip of your beverage every two bites of food'."

She sighs,

"And those are just the highlights."

"But Sondra seems to like her." I say

"Yeah, but she only acts nice around my mom and dad." Zendaya says.

"Why?" I ask

Zendaya leans close to me, "Look, Aunt Kristin isn't as wealthy as my mom or dad. She has been depending on them to give them money for a living. So she has to act nice around my parents or else bye-bye money."

I gasp, "Oh," I say, "Well, what about her husband?"

"Uncle Eric isn't bad." Zendaya says, "He's a plump little man with a sense of humor. He's the only good one in the family." She sighs again, "Then there's William. He's a spoiled brat. So demanding. Don't let him push you around."

"He's like a smug prince," I say, then laugh.

Zendaya laughs too. "Yes, a smug prince."

Then Sondra comes in holding two bags.

"Girls, Aunt Kristin sewed you two pretty dresses for a thank-you gift. Try them on!"

Zendaya scowls and whispers to me, "I was about to talk about that, be prepared to itch."

We try on the dresses. It looks more like uniforms. And it is itchy. SO ITCHY!!

"Ugh," I say, "It's like she purposely made this itchy."

Then we hear the doorbell...

"Oh goodness!" Sondra says, "They're here, Blake! They're here!"

Blake rushed into my room. He and Sondra rush downstairs

I look at Zendaya, she looks at me. We both look RIDICULOUS. We run downstairs just in time to see a taxi pull into the driveway. A ridiculously skinny woman with sleeks of black hair steps out, I guess that's Aunt Kristin. Then, a plump man with streaks of blonde hair steps out, Uncle Eric. Last, a plump boy with brown-blonde hair steps out, William. In a way, they remind me of Petunia Dursley, Vernon Dursley, and Dudley Dursley.

"Ahh, Sondra!" Aunt Petunia-I mean Kristin cries pulling Sondra into a hug. Vernon-I mean Uncle Eric shakes Blake's hand, and Dudley-I mean William smugly walks over to us.

"Greetings fellow cousins," he says sweetly, then when the adults are inside his tone changes, "GIVE ME LEMONADE NOW!!"

Yup, definitely Dudley Dursley.

The dinning table is set with all kinds of food and drinks. I look at the drinks, then at Aunt Kristin.

"Can I just not have a beverage then?" I whisper to Zendaya.

She shudders, "Drink something, or things are gonna get ugly. Trust me, I've been there."

I shudder and we sit down. We made sure to sit next to each other and far away from the Dursley-I mean Thomas's.

William politely dabs his mouth with a napkin. Sondra looks at him, "Aren't you just the cutest little thing?" She asks him. He beams.

Aunt Kristin rubs William's hair, "Yes, yes" she says, "He's a fine gentleman."

I scowl at them. This is the beginning of an AWFUL week.
