Summer was over. Time to go back to school. Yay! NOT. I can't believe I'm in 8th grade already. I guess time passes fast when I'm having fun. But outside may seem like I'm having fun, inside, I'm literally broken. I'm lost, sure I still have my friends and umm Mark but I miss my parents, I miss Ms. Layla, I miss the orphanage, I miss Kenzi the most. Another thing I am not looking forward to is that my leg is still broken. Sigh. While I was heading to class, a "tough" looking guy came and punched me.

"Awww are you sad you have a broken leg? Why don't you cry with your mom and dad?" He asked, mocking a sad voice

"First of all, I'll never be the little baby you are, second, how about you leave me alone, or I break your leg?" I snarled

"Umm okay... bye!" He seemed scared.

I go to my next class using my crutches. All my teachers have noted that I would be like this for the next few weeks (I almost cried).

Trixie has been a good friend. She's kinda like my helper. She helps me get to class. And we basically have the same schedule so it isn't much of a problem. The best news is: The principal actually let me bring Shadow to school! How exciting is that? Shadow is with me everywhere I go. People wouldn't even dare come near me. (Evil Grin).

Ok, I'll admit I'm scary, but it's my thing. Plus, now that I can't ditch school anymore, because of my stupid broken leg, also because the teachers have been noticing that I have been missing during classes so they're keeping an extra eye on me, so it's good to have a pet by your side. Trust me.

"So annoying am I right Shadow?" I ask

Shadow nods, "Yes yes!" She squeaks.

I smile. Shadow is THE BEST.

8th grade, more like failure grade. I'm failing everything. Not Physical Education or art though. I know I said that Kenzi making sure I finish my homework before playing is annoying but at least I'm not failing. Also, she always checks my homework when I'm done. Before, I was doing so good the teachers thought I was cheating.

Mark and Trixie sat with me at lunch. Kai sat with Josh and John. They are talking about video games.

"Mr. K-man is so cool! Seriously, Luna, you should take robotics." Mark says

"I hate robotics!" I say for like the hundredth time. "It's like math and science mixed together. And I'm failing both so no thank you."

Trixie laughs, "Ok grumpy pants, seriously, what's wrong with you?"

"I don't want to talk about it," I grumble.

"Ok, but you seem pretty upset," Trixie says.

I am a bit upset, maybe I do want to talk about it?

"Fine, before class, I was minding my own business when a huge guy came over and said, 'Oh, you broke your leg huh? Are you gonna cry to your mommy and daddy?' Then I told him that my parents are dead. And that just upsetted me ya know?"

"Wait," Mark says, "Are you saying that you talked with 'The Complication'?"

"I don't know, maybe, but how do you know 'The Complication'?" I ask

Mark shakes his head, "It's complicated," he says, "But basically, if he gets afraid of you, you are gonna be world fame, or maybe you're gonna be the new Complication."

"Really? Cool!" I say, feeling slightly more cheerful,

"What did you tell him?" Trixie asks,

"That if he bothers me again, I'll break his leg."

They both laugh and high-five each other.

"Great job!" Mark says.

They sure know how to cheer me up.
