Luna has been acting differently since Kenzi went to Australia. I guess she is really depressed that Kenzi is gone and I get it. I had a REALLY good friend named Nathan and he moved away last year. I locked myself away from the world around me for some time. I soon got over it. But she is different. It is like she's totally changed. She used to never cry at all and was always sarcastic and dark and stuff. Now she is always depressed and sad, but she tries to hide it. I wish I could help her. I walk to my home and get greeted by Albert, my butler.
"Are mom and dad home yet?" I asked
Albert shakes his head no and I sigh. My parents are famous movie directors and they never have time to do anything with me. If I could have one wish, it would be to have a loving family that actually has time for me. That would never happen though. I go to my room and flop onto my bed. Life sucks. I called Zack and asked him to come over. When he arrived he asked, "Parents gone?" I nod. We play some games in the arcade of my house and then Zack goes. I sigh. Kai calls me to come over to the Carsons and I agree. As I walk there, I hear squeals. Kai runs up to me and says, "Marky, Marky! Look what Alex and Camila got Luna and me!!!" I look and see an iPhone 12 in his hand. I laugh and take out my iPhone 12 I got last week.
"Hey guys, watcha doin?" Luna asked.
"Showing Marky my new iPhone," Kai responds
"Oh yeah! I painted the clear phone case that came with my phone," Luna said. She showed us and it was a painting of Kenzi, Carrots (Kenzi's bunny), her, and Shadow.
"Maybe you can call Kenzi?" I say
She looked sad as she said, "I tried, but it didn't work. Then, Alex told me that since Kenzi is in Australia, she probably doesn't have an internet we know of so I can't call her.
"Sorry," I mumble
"Don't be," Luna smiled, but it looked forced, "Are your parents home?"
I shake my head no. Luna hugs me and I blush. I guess I kinda like Luna now. You know, more than a friend.
Later, I go home to see mom and dad.
"Umm... hi?" I say
"Mark!" My mother shouts. Did I mention that they are super rude and they have high expectations? "Your grades are going down so much! If you flunk school, OUR REPUTATION WILL BE RUINED!"
I look down.
"We will be on a business trip for the whole next week. If you don't get your grades up in that time, you will be grounded for a month!" my father snapped
"Okay, okay, jeez," I go to my room and lock the door. Like I said I want a kind, caring family that doesn't care about their reputation that much. I went to my bed and took out a book and started to read. I soon drift off to sleep.
