- Chapter Thirteen -
"Happy Halloween!""HAPPY HALLOWEEN!"
Amber González let out a mighty yell as she fell sideways off of her bed due to the loud shout that had been delivered in her ear. Sherry was stood by the side of her bed, still in her pyjamas but grinning wildly down at her friend who grumbled under her breath and stood up as best as she could.
"What the hell?" Amber panted, breathing heavily and staring at Sherry bewilderedly before looking over at the clock on the wall. "It's 6:30 in the morning, you know breakfast doesn't start until 8 right?"
"I know, but todays Halloween!" She said excitedly, walking around the bed to grab a still sleepy and confused Amber by the shoulders. "And it's a Friday so we can stay at the party for as long as we want to tonight!"
The party invitations had come the day after Sherry's second detention with James which they didn't talk much in after James had thrown literal Owl shit at her, they didn't even say bye to each other and just walked off their separate ways with agitated looks on their faces. Sherry didn't really care for it in the morning, ready for another day of classes but before that, at breakfast, Marlene McKinnon had come up to the group and handed them the invitations before walking away with a wink.
Oliver had stuttered hopelessly again at the fact that the wink had obviously been directed towards Sherry but she just smirked and ate her toast with an extra boost in confidence and a quick glance back to Marlene who had Lily Evans teasing her slightly.
"Sherry, I'm going to repeat what I said...it is 6:30 in the morning." Amber put her hands on Sherry's that were still holding her shoulders. "I'm going back to sleep, wake me up when it's time for breakfast."
"No!" Sherry grasped onto her arm as she went to slip back under her covers. "It's Halloween, I'm still yet to be pranked so today we need to be one step ahead of Potter and the marauders at all times." She said seriously.
"Which means...?" Amber trailed off questioningly.
"We need to be careful, vigilant and strategic." She told her, nodding her head and Amber joined in, doing it slowly however. "Now, if my reverse psychology has taken effect, Potter will be walking into the party tonight with the most embarrassing costume he could wear, it'll make him look like he idolises me."
Amber seemed to be waking up more now, tilting her head interestedly at Sherry's words with slightly narrowed eyes.
"If I don't get pranked today, he will be the talk of the school tomorrow but if I do get pranked, it won't be at the party, it'll be before so he will still be the talk of the school tomorrow." Sherry explained with a smile. "Win-win."
"Okay, but what if your psychology doesn't work?" Amber questioned her.
"It will. If James thinks I'm dressing up as him for Halloween, which I'm not, to try and not give me the satisfaction, he'll try and dress up as me which will be his idea of a prank." She explained quickly and a couple of other girls stirred in their beds as the two of them were not talking quietly. "Except because I'm not dressed up as him, it'll just be embarrassing and his idea of a prank will have backfired."
