"SHERRY."

"Yeah, exactly. Yeah. That's what's I said." Sherry Opal was stood in her kitchen, leaning against the counter with a cookie in her hand as she spoke into the phone, the cord was stretched around the corner and back over to the landline like a snakes body.

"Sherry."

"No, no I don't think so. He was a bit...crazy, y'know?" The blonde bit into her snack, chewing whilst listening to her friend on the other side of the line.

"Sherry!"

"Yeah." She laughed, tilting her head so the phone was wedged in between her shoulder and her ear. Her hands brushed together and all the cookie crumbs fell off of them.

"Sherry!"

The line went silent, her friends voice being cut off as Sherry took the phone from under her ear and looked at it, furrowing her eyebrows. "Hello? Stephanie?" She asked, looking it over again.

Lena Opal, Sherry's mother, came round the corner with the plug in hand, a hard glare on her face as she stared at her daughter.

"Mom!" Sherry exclaimed. "I was talking to Stephanie, so please can you plug the phone back in?" She asked and stared at her mother, waiting for her to move.

"I've been calling your name for the past two minutes! Get your cases ready, we leave in ten minutes!" Lena scolded, placing the landline back down on the table, but keeping it unplugged.

Sherry groaned loudly, resting her palms on the kitchen counter. "Why can't I stay here? I have friends at Ilvermorny! I don't want to go to...what's it called again?"

"Hogwarts."

The blonde snorted and hid her laughter behind her hand. "Hog...wash?" She asked teasingly, taking a bottle of spring water out of the fridge.

"Hogwarts." Her mother snapped. "We leave for the airport in ten minutes, Sherry. Get your cases!"

"But I don't want to go! I'm a Massachusetts girl, I'm a Horned Serpent not a...Griffin." Sherry scrunched her nose up.

She was indeed a Horned Serpent, sorted there in her first year at Ilvermorny Magic School, just like her father. The bastard had left long ago though. Her mother, however, was originally from England and went to another magic school, she got placed in some red house that Sherry never really payed any attention to.

Her mother had been threatening to move her to Britain for a long time, but had never actually had the courage to do it. The empty threats were now being fulfilled as in just a couple of hours, Sherry would be on the plane to Heathrow Airport. She was being sent to live with her mother's friend Lyall for three years until the end of her education and she wasn't happy.
