SHERRY HELD ONTO AMBER WITH A GRIP TIGHTER THAN ANYTHING. This was the day Sherry had been both looking forward to and dreading, the day where everyone left the school. On one hand, she would be leaving the school and wouldn't have to endure the endless stares, whistles and torture she had put up with for the last month of the school year. On the other hand, she would go six weeks without Amber, Louis, Oliver or Matt to keep her company which was sure to be an equivalent to hell.

Even when she hadn't been going to lessons and just taking her own time in her dorm, that had felt like another job. Everything she did felt like a chore and she didn't even move most of the day. The most strenuous thing she did was getting changed into a different pair of sweats everyday to again just sit around and do nothing whilst her friends sat with her.

Friends, not family. Because her only family who had been in England, her mother for the meeting with Potter and his parents, had left almost immediately. Sherry walked her to the gate, tried to hug her again but her mom just kissed her on the forehead and then walked off through the gates; Sherry didn't bother to say goodbye, she was done with everything, including her mother absence.

But she knew she'd be back for 4th of July like she promised and that was only in a couple of days once they all returned back to Kings Cross Train Station, Sherry didn't have to wait long for her mother to be back.

And even though she was annoyed when the woman left, her boyfriend found her soon after and was her shoulder to cry on. He had hugged her tight, supported her right until she went to sleep and then he even slept in the Common Room so that he would be there for her when she woke up in the morning.

Days with Matt were the only days she was looking forward to this summer.

Days with Amber, Louis and Oliver would also be greatly appreciated, but they lived further away from the Lupin house than Matt did. It was a very pleasant and needed surprise when Matt had said he lived only half an hour away from the town the Lupin's lived in and that he would visit her a lot. Sherry was grateful that he had stayed the same even after the disaster she went through.

Despite this disaster, her mood had slowly began to improve with the way she actually spoke and kept the bed curtains open and let people sit with her. But the one thing she didn't allow anyone to do was touch her, she didn't tell anyone why but Amber found out soon enough.

Sherry had spent the evening the reason was revealed cleaning blood off of Matt's face after his fight with the Slytherin that had touched her inappropriately and that night she had allowed herself to cuddle into his side, his arm on the back of the sofa but his side pressed against hers.

And he kissed her on the forehead, made her feel loved and wanted. Something only a few people could do.

Although she knew she would be seeing him through summer, saying goodbye was still one of the hardest things she had to do. They had all boarded the train together, trunks in their hands and ready for the long ride and they had all exited the train together, wanting to stay with one another for as long as physically possible. And so Sherry's death grips had begun.
