- Chapter Twenty-Five -
"Insipid chunk of rancid human garbage.""OLIVER, THAT'S UNHEALTHY." Amber González scrunched her nose up at her brother as he backtracked into the compartment they were sat in with his arms full of sweets from the Trolley that had just passed through the hallway outside. "You'll ruin your teeth."
"This is my lunch." He mumbled back distractedly as he tried to open one of the packets of Salt Water Taffy he had bought whilst he let the rest of the things he had bought fall into the space between him and Louis on the seat.
"Mum packed us sandwiches." Amber told him, reaching into her bag she had brought into the compartment with her and pulling out four triangular ham and cheese sandwiches wrapped in cling film. Oliver glanced up from looking into his packet of Taffy and scrunched his nose up at the sandwiches.
"You can have mine." He shrugged his shoulders and shook his head, putting a piece of Taffy in his mouth, chewing on it with a delighted grunt as he had gone through his Christmas holidays with little to no Honeydukes sweets.
Only Louis had gotten him some, the rest had been muggle sweets that his mother had supplied for him and Amber when they had fought their way down the stairs on Christmas Day. He sadly didn't manage to disappear up to his room after the opening of presents before his mother had caught him and planted a big kiss to his cheek and hugged him tightly almost like he was being suffocated by her arms. Amber had laughed at him and then played angel child when their mum moved onto her next.
Amber gave a large sigh, dropping the arm that was holding the wrapped sandwiches towards her brother before she turned exasperatedly to Louis. "Louis? Want Oliver's sandwiches?"
"Go on then." Louis shrugged and took them off of her, the sweets next to him didn't influence his decision in the slightest since he knew that they were Oliver's and everyone knew better than to come between Oliver and his food. Same with Sherry when she actually eats; he didn't like how she had no breakfast, a little snack lunch and then an average plate at dinner but she always just shrugged it off with a wave of her hand.
"It's hard being the responsible ones." Amber joked, Louis smiling as Oliver only rolled his eyes at the two.
"Yeah well, you guys love me and Sherry so shut up." Oliver narrowed his eyes at his twin, pointing some Taffy at her as he chewed on another piece and she shoo her head at him with a small smile. "Speaking of, did you guys hear from Sherry over the holidays?"
Both of them shook their heads, exchanging glances. Amber wasn't going to lie and tell them that she wasn't expecting a gift from their American friend but she also decided not to antagonise Sherry and judge her for not getting them Christmas gifts especially when they knew of her situation. Little money, not that friendly with the family she was living with, still getting used to living in Britain and also no clue where to get gifts. All three of them were thinking the same thing, told by their glances and Amber broke the awkwardness with a sigh.
