SHERRY'S FIRST DAY BACK AT HOGWARTS WAS MOSTLY NORMAL.

It was odd for her, to walk through the hallways and pretend as though her life hadn't crumbled in front of her eyes in that very place just a mere month ago. It was odd for her to pretend like some people weren't watching her and wondering where the boy who never used to leave her side went. It was odd for her to receive hundreds more of kind smiles then she ever previously had in Hogwarts and yet she was determined to think nothing of it.

Nevertheless, her friends were still endlessly protective over her. She was always in the middle of their clump when they walked down the Hogwarts halls, Louis and Amber either side of her with Oliver taking up the rear and sticking his head in between the girls' when he wanted to pitch into the conversation. Sherry found herself laughing and smiling almost all day when around her friends like that.

Going back to Hogwarts had seemed like a nightmare but when she was there, Sherry was thankful that she hadn't fled the country without any trail which was her plan B for the summer. Unfortunately too much had happened for her to even think about executing that plan, instead she spent the holidays brooding in her own misery and being mistreated to a horrific extent.

Matt was now in his seventh-year. He would be leaving soon. He's in Gryffindor, Sherry had less of a chance of running into him. Potter was in her year. He was also a Gryffindor and although they might still have classes together, she was certain nobody in their right mind would sit them beside each other after what had happened. Dumbledore had also given up on their weekly meetings which made her feel much more happier for the upcoming school year.

She was half-tempted to listen in on McGonagall giving him his schedule to see what she could take in order to avoid him but he was too far away and Flitwick was with her before McGonagall was with him. A river of hope had flowed through her when she made her way to her first lesson that she and Potter had opposite schedules but that was not the case.

His bright blue eyes almost seemed like they were waiting for her when she approached the classroom with Louis and Oliver either side of her. Amber had been lagging behind with Nico and discussing things quietly, Sherry let them have their privacy. Potter stood up straighter when he caught sight of her bright blonde tresses, her altered uniform and the blue eyes that had bored into his all that time ago when there was even the smallest chance they could've become friends.

It was as though he was reminiscing on an old relationship from years ago when in reality it was simply a matter of weeks. He couldn't help the swell in his chest when he saw her look over at him and watched her smile fade from her face only slightly before Oliver took his place in between them, blocking each of them from the view. Sirius had clapped a hand on his shoulder at that moment and he had looked at the boy next to him but his mind was still on her and how the scene had seemed so damn familiar.
