SHERRY STARED OUT OF HER DORM ROOM WINDOW.

It was silent apart from the whistling of the wind flying past the window she was looking out of. Delicate snowflakes soared past her eyeline too, too quickly for her to admire the part of Christmas she always loved. Back in America, the snowflakes would fall slower, allowing the group to get a good look at them as they pressed their faces to the glass panes. Sherry knew she wasn't in America anymore but still wished for at least a bit of normality. The most normal thing she was doing for Christmas was wrapping herself up in a blanket with comfortable clothes on underneath as she sipped on a glass of water she had made herself.

All the girls in her dorm had one home for Christmas a couple of days before, the leaving of Amber making Sherry realise just how lonely the two weeks without her were going to be especially when Louis and Oliver were gone too. The only people she knew that were staying over the holidays were Remus, Peter and Sirius...oh and Potter. They had crossed paths a couple of days after she had slapped him when Sherry had been hugging her friends goodbye and watched them get in carriage and be taken back to Hogsmeade station; nothing had passed between them except for a knowing, hateful glance as she passed him with her ponytail swinging this way and that.

She had hid herself away in her lonely Common Room the first couple of days, doing whatever she pleased as she was the only Ravenclaw staying home for the holidays. There had been a lot of chess, a lot of staring out of windows but not much reading despite the many bookcases around the common room. She had also done lots of planning for pranks on Potter that she could use if she felt in the mood but it was all mostly to distract herself from her isolation.

Her hair had began to grow out again, resulting in her spending a night in the bathroom with the loud records the girls had left behind being played from Anna's record player. The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spider from Mars record was the first one she had put on, setting everything in the bathroom up and getting into clothes she didn't mind ruining whilst Five Years and Soul Love played in the background. Moonage Daydream, her favourite Bowie song, had come on when she started and since she was the only one in the whole of Ravenclaw Tower, she sang loudly.

"Keep your 'lectric eye on me babe," She sang, applying the dye to her head skilfully as she had done so many times before. "Put your ray gun to my head, Press your space face close to mine, love. Freak out in a moonage daydream, oh yeah."

Then it all circled back around to Christmas Eve and she was staring outside of the window with Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd playing in the background and she almost laughed from the fact that this very song was on when she was sat by herself at Christmas when she could've been sat with her best friends back in America, chatting away whilst It's A Wonderful Life is playing in the background and Connor is crying his eyes out whilst hugging tight to Sherry's arm for dear life.
