Chapter 18

y/n pov:

I nod ''yeah I did, anyways I came here to tell you I won't be home for dinner sometimes, there is something really important  I need to do, I hope that's fine'' I turn to look at Hinata and she said as long as I don't do anything stupid that can get myself hurt, but Boruto wasn't happy about it, he had a lot a question

''what will you be doing? '' he followed me upstairs

''important stuff'' I walked towards my room opening the door and Boruto following

''are you avoiding me about what I did? '' he stopped, his head dropping, I turn to look at him

''I don't recall what you did and I am pretty sure I am the one who smacked you across the face'' I laughed turning to look at him, he then met my gaze

he pushed my back,  causing me to land  on the bed he got on top of me putting his hands next to my head, leaning closer ''I pushed you because I knew you were right, and I kinda called you useless without the scrolls, but  the truth is your so much stronger you just haven't unlocked your true power! ''

''yeah but  you were right I can't do anything without the scrolls, because here I am going every day to the scrolls searching for answers to help the one I care for the most but I can't find anything! '' I flipped  us around so I was on top ''and I don't have a true power, I don't know what that means, please you need to help me in times when I push you away please come back, and in times where I am distant please don't go'' I said as a tear sliding down my face landing on his face

''I promise I won't go anywhere'' he smiled as he wiped away my tears, he then hugged me rubbing my back

*3 days later*

'I am exhausted I thought as quietly opened the front door, not wanting to wake anyone up,  I  sensed Naruto's chakra and Hinata's chakra as well standing in front of Boruto's room

''I grew up without a dad, to be honest, I don't know how to interact with Boruto I am sure he can sense it'' I hear Naruto speak and I stop in my tracks

''that's not true he understands completely in his way'' Hinata said trying to cheer Naruto up, I walk back to the  door opening it and closing behind me

' maybe if I can help catch the person behind everything it would be one less thing Naruto has to worry about, and then he can spend some time with Boruto' I walked around town, completely forgetting I was tired,  trying to solve it

without realizing it was morning, I headed home to get a shower and change some clothes, eating and then heading out, I felt an evil presence once again, and as fast  as my  feet could run I made my way towards where the presence was coming from stopping in front of the water purification building seeing it destroyed

I sensed the evil presence, I rushed inside the building finding Sumire laying on the floor, I bent down picking her up, sensing the evil presence inside her but  then it disappeared, I then sense chakra that isn't Sumire's, I  look at her my eyes widening in shock

I shrugged it off for now taking her outside and giving her to the medical ninja, heading home and putting all the pieces together with all the information I have gathered

I left the house as soon as possible and headed towards the hospital, where Sumire was at, opening the door I see her facing the window,  she turns to look at me  smiling

''your the one causing all the trouble aren't you? '' I ask straight forward walking closer, her smile then soon fades,  it turning into a smirk

''what are you talking about? ''

''don't act dumb I know it's you'' I stopped in front of her, glaring at her

''so what  if it is what are you going to do? '' she gave me a  smug look raising her eyebrows

''I am going to tell the others''

''they won't believe you, I dare you to go tell them'' she said in a stern voice,  I scoffed before vanishing and  heading towards the post office where Boruto was

landing in front of him, the others are there as well ''Boruto I know who is behind all this '' I said shocking him and the rest

''you do? '' he asked unsure of what I was about to say

''yeah it's Sumire'' I said getting straight to the point, as few seconds go by and he says nothing, the others are just looking at us waiting to see what happens next

''y/n now isn't the time to  be joking''  he crossed his arms

'' I am serious, don't you believe me?'' I asked furrowing my eyebrows, and then what Sumire said came to mind

'they won't believe you '

she was right they don't ''I see, so you don't believe, but why would I be lying? '' I crossed my arms

''maybe because your jealous'' Boruto said in a monotone voice

''why would I be-'' I got cut of my Boruto pointing a finger at me

''jealous, because lately you have been missing school, so maybe you're just jealous that everyone pays more attention towards Sumire and not you, and that everyone cared that she  was in the hospital'' he walked closer, stopped in front of me looking me in the eye

''if I were jealous  I wouldn't have saved her that day'' I turned around walking away, I could hear the others talking about something I took a left at the corner stop, I can't believe it

Why is he calling me jealous, does he want to cause a  fight or something?

I hear everyone leave and head back towards where we were standing, my hands on my hips, I felt a presence land behind me

''your right they don't believe me'' I didn't even bother turning around one of the guys that worked at the post office began going insane, I hear Boruto speak, but didn't pay  much attention, knocking out the guy

Boruto pov:

I see y/n knock out the guy and the next thing she is frozen, my eyes activates and I see the shadow over
y/n's body, my eyes widen remembering what that guy told me

'and don't let her get consumed with that 'shadow' you see, the whole village will be in danger '

it looked like y/n was being controlled like a puppet, I looked at her

''run'' she said trying to keep control of her body, she then stretched out both her arms and screamed in pain, the hooded figure then disappeared leaving us with y/n

''you need to run'' she whispers as a tear slips down her face, she bit her finger and did  some hands signs, blood trickling down her hand, she pointed her finger towards us, if I remember correct y/n can also kill people with her blood

I then ran towards her dodging all the papers that started flying everywhere, and hugg her ''y/n it's me calm down'' I say hoping this will work, I can knock her out but my body won't allow it

''Boruto I can control this, get away'' she pushed me away, and right after that a bunch of paper came, she then fell to the floor

''get out of my body'' she shouted wrapping her arms around herself, my eye activates as I see her standing up and the shadow leaves her body, I look  at her and it doesn't look like anything happens usually when the shadow takes control of your body you lose a lot of chakra, she fell to her knees

''I am so sorry, it just took control'' she apologized, she got up and left, without saying anything, I didn't even get to say anything and later that night Mitsuki came home with me

My mind was everywhere, trying to figure out who is behind this, and wondering where y/n is and will she join us tonight, Mitsuki and I were sitting in my room before being called down for dinner

''look who came for dinner tonight'' I hear my mom say from the kitchen entering I see y/n taking a seat not saying anything, we were waiting for my father, I didn't pay attention only focusing on y/n
