Chapter 46

boruto pov:
*1 week later*

I came to visit y/n like I have been doing, and I brought flowers. I don't usually bring flowers but today I felt like I should, for some reason.

I enter the hospital and was greeted by the nurses. I think I was seeing things but they had a look on their faces it was like they were hiding something, but I just brushed it off and continued walking towards her room.

I open the door slowly but stopped once I heard people talking

''how long does she have to live" I hear sakura ask

''2 days, maybe less but no more'' I recognized that voice as m/n

my eyes widened

''I guess it can't be helped'' Sakura said as she sighed. I hear them making their way towards the door and I quickly went behind the corner and watched them leave

once they were gone I went inside, closing the door behind me. I watched y/n as I walked closer. I place the flowers on the table and sat down next to y/n, sighing.

I hid my face behind my palm

''why?'' I ask ''maybe if I did things differently things wouldn't have turned out like this''

I look at y/n again before I stand up walking towards the window looking outside. The village is back to normal and we were receiving missions again

''y/n'' I said ''don't leave, please'' I bowl my hand into a fist, I felt like crying. Y/n means everything to me and the thought of losing her scares me

''I would never admit this to your face but you're the most important person to me, I can't lose you''

I dropped my head and I tear slipped down my face. I felt arms wrap around me and I was gonna freak out but I felt her presence, the most important person to me.

''I would never admit this to your face as well, but you're also the most important person to me '' y/n whispered as she tightened her grip

I turn around causing her to stop hugging me from behind. I place my hand on her face and wiped her tears

''no I don't want you seeing me like this" she said as she turned around and I see her wiping her tears. This time I am the one hugging from behind

''y/n please don't leave''

it went silent for a few seconds before she turned around with a smile on her face

'' I am not, we were pranking you" she grinned at me

''What?!'' I said ''that's not funny I thought...''

she laughed ''sorry but I thought I should maybe get you back''

I couldn't speak, I was frozen in place

''you're not mad are you''

I wrap my arms around her, hugging her tight

''no, just relieved''

she hugged back ''I wouldn't just leave you, who knows what you would have done if I wasn't here''

we stayed like that for a while before the door opened

''did it work'' Sakura asked

we pulled away and look at Sakura and m/n

y/n nods with a grin on her face ''yeah he fell for it''

''it wasn't funny'' I crossed my arms. I feel y/n nudge me on the side
