The Struggle with the Acceptance of Love

Chapter 28

THIRD POV:

Rey and Bronwyn ran to Leia's quarters and burst through the door, "General the-!"

"I know.. I let them come," Leia said calmly as she walked out of her quarters to the middle of the camp with Rey and Bronwyn following.

Once they were standing in front of the panicked Resistance, Leia turned to Bronwyn, "Bronwyn could you be a dear and yell at everyone to be quiet so I can explain what's going on? I'm getting too old to yell." 

"Uhh ok.." Bronwyn then cleared her throat and faced the Resistance, "EVERYONE QUIET!!"

The Resistance froze and stared at them before gathering around them with questions flying out at them,

"What are we going to do?!"

"We should run!"

"We need to do something or else were going to die!"

"What's the plan?"

"General?!"

Leia sighed and hushed everyone, "Fellow Resistance Members.. We don't need to run anymore.. the First Order and I agreed to a peace treaty. They are not here to harm us. I was very hesitant to agree to this but I realized I didn't need to.. and I trusted my son to keep his word and I know he will.."

The Resistance then went quiet for a few seconds and until started talking again,

"So were not going to die?!"

"The First Order can't be trusted! They'll slaughter us!"

"We need this peace treaty!"

"I agree with General Leia!"

"Were still going to die!"

Rey was shocked by everything going on and stood next to Leia and whispered, "Why didn't you tell me?"

Leia looked at her, "You were asleep, I didn't want to wake you."

Finn then came forward, "You shouldn't have done that! They'll kill us all! Especially Kylo Ren, once a monster, always a monster!"

That made Rey bristle, "He isn't a monster!"

"Of course you'll defend him! He probably brainwashed you!" Finn yelled back.

Poe then came forward and tried to drag Finn away but Finn ripped his arm away from him, "Finn, buddy, please your not making things better! Just back off!"

"Why? You know the things he's done!" Finn yelled at him.

"Yes.. I know," Poe said softly and backed off. Poe didn't like to talk about Kylo or Poe knew him as Ben before he left. Poe and Ben grew up together and would always hang out together. They were the bestest friends, they were like brothers.. until Ben had to leave with Luke at age 9 and it broke Poe's heart.

A huge gust of wind then blew there way. They all looked and saw a First Order shuttle land a couple of yards away. Rey's heart started to beat quicker as she saw Ben walk down the ramp with General Hux next to him, and his Knights behind them. Rey couldn't see his expression from his mask he wore.
