Yongjie paid for another bouquet of flowers to be delivered at The Muse. It was the 12th of February, Yongjie planned to surprise Xingsi with those flowers as a proper process to woo him. He still didn't feel confident enough to face Xingsi and confess his love directly to him. Firstly, Yongjie was about nine years younger than Xingsi. And Xingsi was definitely more mature and experienced in the things of love and relationship. Xingsi was also reserved and homely. Just the kind of man Yongjie wanted.

Yongjie went to the library to get some homework done. His phone let out a message beep. He took it out from his jean pocket and glared at the screen. It was a message from his mom.

'Can you come with me to the wedding preparation at The Muse. Hong is busy at work he can't come. Mom.'

Hong was the new boyfriend/about to be husband of Yongjie's mother.

Yongjie twitched his jaws. "How can you be so busy not to plan your own wedding?" he muttered to himself.

He hated this whole situation. He hated the fact that his mom was getting married again to a totally new man. Each time she did, it was nothing but trouble. He wasn't sure if he would be able to live with a stranger yet again. His mom had always complained about money. He had been saving to move his mom to a better apartment and take care of her. But he was still a student and there was still lot of tuition to pay.

After pondering about what reply to give to his mom, he typed,

"What time?"

"3pm."

Yongjie left the library and arrived at The Muse building by 2:30pm. He paced in front of the building until he saw his mom drop from a taxi. She wore one of her favorite white lacy dress. Her black hair was neatly tied to a ponytail.
"Thank you Yongjie. How are you?" she greeted. "You don't look too happy?"

Yongjie stopped her from touching his face. "Let's just go."

"Okay."

They both entered the building and headed to the third floor where The Muse was situated. The receptionist welcomed them and ushered them into the waiting room where they took their seats on the comfortable chairs. She handed them a magazine and pamphlets to keep them entertained while she fetched one of the directors.

"What color of flowers would suit me?" Mom asked as she flipped through the pages of the magazine, viewing beautiful photos of real couples in their wedding attires.

"Which ever one makes you happy," Yongjie replied bluntly.

"I like the cream colored gown, with yellow roses," mom continued to get enchanted in the mood.

Yongjie looked away. His eyes trailed to his right. There he caught sight of Xingsi walking past the window. Yongjie blinked as he felt mesmerized by his looks. He was wearing a blue suit paired with a clean white shirt. His hair was neatly styled and he wore a sweet smile on his face.

Xingsi entered the waiting room quickly and sat down opposite them. "Sorry to keep you waiting." he turned to the older woman and bowed. "Good day aunty."

Yongjie's mom laughed, "Ah come on, I'm Qinxiang and this is my son, Fu Yongjie."

Yongjie adjusted on his seat and bowed slightly. "Hello."

He noticed Xingsi paused before he greeted back. "Hello."

"What can we do for you?" Xingsi smiled.

"I am getting remarried," Fu Yongjie's mom announced yet again.

"Oh congratulations," Xingsi said sounding excited.

Yongjie smirked and rolled his eyes. He wondered why Xingsi was excited by that. He watched Xingsi as he talked to his mom about the cost of planning a low key wedding. The preparation will range from the booking a hall, decorations, cake and buffet services.

Yongjie could only imagine how blissful it would be...

Waking up to see Xingsi sitting beside the bed with a bunch of flowers. He would collect the flowers and inhale the fresh scent then lean close towards Xingsi and about to place a kiss on his lip...

"Yongjie...?"

Yongjie shook his head and faced his mother. "What are you thinking of? This handsome man was asking you a question?" she said.

"Huh... Oh, I didn't hear..." Yongjie said a little confused as he tried to regain his mind.

Xingsi smiled. "You seem lost,"

"I'm not lost." Yongjie stammered out.

"Well, just study the pamphlets if there is anything you want to add you let me know."

Yongjie leaned towards the table.
"I think everything she said is fine."

Xingsi nodded. "Okay. We will work with that. The camera man will take some photos of you. Do you mind?"

"Of course. I wore my favorite dress today."

Yongxian came in and ushered Yongjie's mom to the studio to take some photos of her.

"She won't take long," Xingsi said looking somewhat pitifully at Yongjie.

"I know," Yongjie retorted. What was he thinking that he was a child who would miss his mom because she was taking photos.

Xingsi stood up from the seat, but he suddenly felt a pang of headache hit his forehead, he almost lost his balance. Luckily Yongjie was fast enough to reach his side and hold him close. Xingsi rested his weight on Yongjie and he marveled at how strong he was.

"Are you okay?" Yongjie asked, worried.

"I just feel..." Xingsi rubbed his forehead.

Yongjie slowly wiped warm sweat from Xingsi's forehead, his fingers grazed Xingsi's cheeks down to his neck. "You shouldn't have come to work today, especially after taking medications."

Yongjie maintained eye contact with Xingsi. He guessed Xingsi would be wondering how he knew he was taking medications.

"Huh? How did you know..." Xingsi managed to say but he was too weak to think further.

"Let me get you water?"

"No. I will be fine. Thanks."

Yongjie released his hold on the man and he watched him walk out of the room.
