It was a few minutes after four when Yongjie arrived at the gym. He was just in time to meet Xingsi coming out of the gym. He was casually dressed in a dark blue long-sleeved shirt and white jean. Yongjie loved the look. He knew Xingsi always dressed formal during the week.

"Yongjie, why are you outside, don't you want to come in? Licheng and Muren are still working out."

"No I don't feel like it," Yongjie replied, "did you shower already?"

"Yes and about to leave," Xingsi held his helmet in his hand.

"Oh..."

"Have you made any plans for your birthday?" Xingsi asked.

"I want to go on a two day trip."

Xingsi smiled. "That will be during the weekend, because of work."

"Yes," Yongjie paused and stared at the other man for a second. "You will come with me right?"

"I..."
Just then a group of people walked past them distracting them, then Xingsi's phone rang out.

"Excuse me," Xingsi took his phone and moved aside, he stared in shock as he saw the name blinking on the phone screen.

Steven?

Was he dreaming? He looked around the area if possibly someone was playing games with his mind.

He slid the screen slowly. "Hello?"

"Simon?"

Steven was the only one who called Xingsi his full names Xing Simon.

"Steven?" His lips quivered .

"Turn around."

Xingsi turned to to his left side to see a trimmed young man standing few meters away from him. Steven disconnected the call and covered the steps between them. "Long time no see."

Xingsi still held on to his phone on his face as he registered what was happening. He stared Steven still in awe.

Steven held Xingsi's hand and took the phone away from his face. "You didn't think you will ever see me again?"

Xingsi shook his head. "No, I never thought that..."

"Don't you want to give me a hug? It's been years Xingsi."

Yongjie who had been watching Steven took a step as if to stop Xingsi from hugging anybody.
"Meet Yongjie, he is my friend." Xingsi said quickly. He rubbed his sweaty palms together.

Yongjie squinted his eyes when Xingsi introduced him as a friend.

"Hi my name is Steven," he reached out his right hand towards Yongjie for a handshake.

Yongjie didn't flinch. His face remained expressionless.

"Um..." Steven withdrew his hand and faced Xingsi. "Can I buy you a drink?"

Xingsi glanced at Yongjie for a second. He felt guilty but he just couldn't resist Steven.  "Yes," he said.

Yongjie was fuming when he got home. His mother noticed his mood as soon as he stepped into his house.

"Love problems?" His mother suggested.

Yongjie nodded.

"Who is he?"

"The man I met when I was a kid."

Yongjie's mom laughed. "Oh my... You never forgot him."

Yongjie shook his head. "No."

"Aww what did he do, did you get rejected?"

"Sort of. He is in love with someone else."

Yongjie's mom looked closely at her son. His eyes were a bit teary. "Are you crying?"

"No." Yongjie looked away.

"Will you wait for him?"

"I waited for ten years,"

"You did nothing wrong loving him for ten years. Give him time, he will surely come back to you."

"I can't bear to see him in the arms of another man, mom."

"I know."

"I almost punched that man in the face."

"No don't hit people because you don't like them."

"I really wanted to."

"It's natural to feel this way. Love grows, mm. Give him a little time. I'm sure he will reciprocate your feelings. Okay."

Yongjie nodded.

"Good." she walked to her dresser and brought a small parcel. "Happy twentieth birthday Fu Yongjie."

Yongjie looked surprised. It was a new diary. He accepted the gift and hugged his mother.
