Yongjie arrived home, just in time to meet his mother hanging the wedding pictures on corners in the sitting room.

"They just arrived today?" She said holding up the photo album in her hand. She couldn't stop smiling. "I have already gone through the album like twice, I can't believe the moment was captured perfectly."

"The wedding company handled it properly."

"Yes and thanks to that young man, he's such a nice man."

Yongjie nodded. He watched his mom still brood over the photos in the album. He knew she finally felt a sense of pride having her own wedding and rightfully living with a man. Her dreams had come true. Now it was time for him to tell her about his dreams.

"Mom that young man, his name is Xingsi."

"Oh yes, Xingsi."

"He is the one..."

"He is the one? What do you mean he is the one?"

"Mom, he is the man I fell in love with, I do tell you about him some time."

The older woman opened her mouth in shock. "What?"

"Why didn't you tell me?" She slapped her son in the back. "I should have greeted him properly."

"He doesn't want me yet, he thinks I'm too young for a relationship."

"Aww... Well he's right."

"Mom?"

"You have always been mature for your age," she sighed. "But Xingsi is so handsome, he is so good at his work too."

"Mom I'm telling you about me, not him."

Just then the front door swung open and Hong walked, wearing a frown on his face.
Yongjie's mom quickly motioned to Yongjie to keep quiet and not talk about Xingsi.

Yongjie had a puzzled look on his face.

"Daddy are you back?"

"I'm hungry I had bad day at work today."

"I will get your food immediately." Yongjie's MO on said quickly.

"What are you talking about?"

"Um nothing."

"What do mean nothing, your son is excited about something. Did he pass his exams?"

"No, it's not about exams. Yongjie you can go to your room now okay." Yongjie's mom said as if she was panicking.

Yongjie strode to his room wondering why his mom acted that way in front of her new husband. There was only one reason, Hong was homophobic. That was why his mom didn't want them to continue with the discussion in his presence.
