The ride home was full of twists and turns as Xingsi held onto Yongjie. The air was cooler in this part of town but he was too weak and sleepy to deduce where exactly Yongjie was headed.
Yongjie brought the bike to a stop at a neighborhood that was somewhat quiet than the area where Xingsi and his friends lived.
Yongjie helped him step down from the bike and both trudged upstairs to the self contained apartment located on the first floor.
"Where are we?" Xingsi asked as Yongjie unlocked the door to his room.
"My place."
Yongjie gently laid Xingsi on the bed and watched him wriggle his head restlessly on the soft pillow.
"Are you okay? Do you need water?" Yongjie asked.
Xingsi nodded.
Yongjie got a bottled water from the mini fridge. He uncorked it and gave Xingsi. After taking a few sips, Xingsi relaxed.
"Thank you."
Xingsi's eyes roved around the room, it gradually registered that he was not in his place.
He turned to Yongjie who was removing his jacket. "Why did you bring me here?""It's Valentine and I wanted to spend the rest of night with my Valentine's gift."
Yongjie studied the solemn expression on Xingsi's beautiful face. Now that he was lying down on his bed, Yongjie saw a whole new side of the man. He felt Xingsi was holding back from accepting him and it could only be because of one reason.
"Do you have a lover?"
"No."
Yongjie swallowed. "I can finally touch you like this. I can finally have you."
He felt relieved. "What do you think of me?"
Xingsi smiled and placed his hands on Yongjie's thighs. "I think you are really cute and stubborn,"
"Ask me what I think of you."
"What do you think of me?"
"I think you are the most beautiful man in the world."
"Hmm...?" Xingsi laughed softly. "You don't even know me, how can you say that?"
"I know you Xingsi. I know you so well."
"How?"
"You want to know how?"
"Hmm yes,"
"Let me kiss you first."
Xingsi blushed almost immediately. He wiped his sleepy eyes with the back of his arms. "Okay."
Yongjie leaned closer towards Xingsi's face and placed a wet kiss on his forehead.
Xingsi closed his eyes slightly and absorbed the moment.
"I met you years ago, and you were crying. Can you remember?"
"You keep saying you know me, but I can't remember."
"I was a kid then, ten years old."
"Oh..." Xingsi squinted his eyes in thought. "I think I remember,"
"So why were you crying." Yongjie gradually traced Xingsi's hair line with his fingers.
"I got heart broken."
"Who broke your heart?"
His fingers traced invisible lines on Xingsi's face as he slowly rubbed his smooth skin.Xingsi took a deep breath. "My first love."
"Who in his right mind will want to loose someone like you?"
Xingsi turned away. "It's complicated."
"I know. I'm sorry."
"It's not your fault, Yongjie."
"I want to make you happy, I told myself if I ever saw you again I would make you the happiest man in the world."
"Fu Yongjie."
"It's a promise."
"Don't you think you're making too many promises in one night?"
"I only made one promise," Yongjie said convincingly.
Xingsi blinked. The effects of the alcohol was weighing down his body systems.
"I'm so dizzy right now.""You want me to hold you?"
"Yes please."
Yongjie took off his T-shirt. He slowly unbuttoned Xingsi's shirt and climbed on the the other side of the bed. He scooped Xingsi in his arms and let him rest his head on his bare chest."Good night," Yongjie whispered.
