Grace wiggled in the grip of the vile creature who held her off the ground by her wrist and she whimpered.
"Please no! I'm sorry!" She begged, closing her eyes and curling away from him.
She felt his other hand on her hip for just a moment before suddenly he dropped her and she crashed to the floor with a thud as the demon began to sputter hot black blood from his mouth when she looked up at him from the floor.
He quickly crumpled to the floor in a heap and behind where he'd been stood now stood the devil with the demons heart in his hands, still beating and squirting blood.
"I didn't think any of you would be dumb enough to lay your paws on my new toy." He growled as he turned to glare at the table of now silent and petrified demon princes.
"Grace. Go home." He said, not looking at her as she trembled on the floor, staring up at him in shock. He had just... saved her...
She stood slowly and backed away before turning and sprinting off towards Dice's office, the black blood that had splattered on her dripping down her face with her tears as her tall heels clicked against the ground.
She heard screams and pleas for mercy and loud crashes from behind her she she ran, desperate to get to dice.Dice was just coming out of his office, having done a little paper work now that the stage fiasco was under control. Now he just had to work the floor and turn on his manager charms to snag the souls of some less than innocent gamblers...
He was about to go do that, except before he could he looked up just in time to see Grace running full force at him and into his arms. She knocked him back a step actually and he quickly pulled her close, panic filling him.
"Grace? Darling what's the matter?!" He turned her chin up to make her look at him and saw she was covered in blood and his heart dropped.
"Oh my god are you hurt?! Who's blood is this?! Darling talk to me!"
Grace panted heavily as she trembled in his arms and clung to him for dear life. "It...i... the devil he...." she stammered, struggling to catch her breath and form a singular thought out loud.
"The devil? Did he hurt you?!" Dice asked, placing his hands on her shoulders and she shook her head quickly.
"One of his demons... they grabbed me and... the devil ripped his heart out!" She finally managed to croke out.
Dice stared down at her foe a moment in stunned silence before turning his gaze towards the poker rooms.
He nodded slowly and drew her back into his arms, leaning down and lifting her up. "I see. Let's get you changed and cleaned up." He said as he turned to carry her into his office.
He sat her on a soft lounge couch and slipped off his jacket and put it around her shoulders.
He moved to a small fridge in the corner and pulled out two cold bottles of water and brought them over to her, handing her one and using the other to dampen the handkerchief from his shirt pocket. He began wiping away at the blood on her face gently and humming for her, his warm whiskey and honey voice filling her head and making her sleepy somehow. It seemed to calm her dramatically as she watched his demon eye glow green.
"D-dice... i..." she whispered, fighting hard to stay awake.
He leaned up and kissed her forehead, still humming as he eased her to lay back on the sofa.
As soon as her head hit the cushion she was out and dice sighed, so greatful for that little gift of his. Now she could rest while he finished up his work.
He stood from her side, looking down at her sleeping form and noticing her poor delicate wrist was pink and swollen. He sighed and went to the fridge again, pulling some ice from its freezer and placing it in a small bag before laying it over her wrist gently.
He headed for the door and hit the lights, taking one last glace at his sleeping girl before heading out to see the damage that Lucifer had caused.
