After their bubble bath and once they were all clean dice wrapped her in a big fluffy towel and placed her on his plush purple king sized bed while he dug through his wardrobe drawers to find something comfortable for her to sleep in but when he turned around to ask her if a pair of his boxers and a wife beater would be ok she had already pulled on his white silk dress shirt from the day.
His cheeks turned lavender as he saw how it hung on her tiny frame and the long sleeve just barely let her finger tips spill from their cuffs.
She turned and smiled at him, her face blushed pink as she she folded her hands behind her back.
He leaned on the wardrobe and smiled, shaking his head. "You're too cute. You're gonna give me a cavity being so sweet." He mused as he moved to hug her.
She smirked up at him, "it smells like you." She said, sniffing the collar.
Again he turned a deeper shade of lavender and he lifted her up, letting her wrap her legs around him as he pressed his face against her neck, kissing softly while he carried her out to the kitchen and sat her on the counter.
"Alright missy. If you can stop being so damn cute for five minutes we can find something to eat." He said, his hands on her hips, giving them a squeeze before turning to dig through his fridge and cabinets to find and make food.
She sat and watched him flit around the kitchen as heavenly smells quickly filled the air.
Before she knew it he sat two plates of some sort of tofu and rice on the counter behind her.
He helped her off the counter and the two sat and ate in silence, both exhausted and lost in thought from the day and it's events but happy to have eachother for comfort.
When they were done Grace moved to stand and took the dishes to the sink to wash them. Dice tried to take over but she shooed him away, threatening to swat him with a rolled up hand towel, to which he laughed and scurried off to watch her from out of her swatting range.
"You look like you've got something on your mind darling." He mused, his arms folded across his chest as he watched her chew on her lip in thought while she washed the dishes.
She turned and gave him a small smile. "Am I that obvious?"
"Only to me my dear." He assured.
She sighed and turned back to the task at hand and nodded. "I was just thinking about... Well about your deal with Lucifer... the one for your soul?"
He seemed to stiffen a bit but kept his smile, "what about it?"
"What was it?" She asked softly.
He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I was just a kid... a street urchin really. I spent most of my days conning tourists out of their money with rigged games on the side of the road or doing card tricks to distract them while I picked their pockets." He explained. "Well one day this old goat man came up to my game on the street and asked how to play. I lovedd it when people didn't know because that made it easier to trick them. I explained it, he asked to play and so I set up the game with a bet for double or nothing on a 20." He said as he came over and began to dry the dishes with the towel she threatened him with. "I decided to let him win the first round so I could pull him in for a second and get more money. He won, I praised him and we played again, but this time he lost. He shrugged it off and said, 'let's play again but this time if I win I get to choose my prize out of something you have on your person right now.' I was hesitant, afraid he might say all my cash or my coat or my shoes or something I actually needed but I figured since I knew how to cheat it would be fine and whatever he took from me I could eventually get more of so I agreed. We played the round and I cheated... or at least I thought I did. Somehow he managed to win. I don't know how because I was sure I'd made it impossible for him to win... Well after he won he started laughing and he grew big and tall and he turned out to be the devil in disguise. I was terrified. Especially when he snapped his fingers and a glowing paper appeared in front of me. He told me what he chose was my very soul. I couldn't control my hand as I wrote my name down and the paper disappeared. I wanted to run but he put his arm around me and told me I was now his and...Well since then I've been here. Doing his dirty work and managing his casino." Dice explained as he finished drying the dishes.
Grace bit her lip and moved to hug herself to him from behind. "That's awful. I'm so sorry dice... is there any way to get tour soul back?"
Dice chuckled. "I could have someone give their soul in my place or someone could win it in a gamble for it but I can't do anything to get it back." He said with a shrug. "Its really not so bad. He's not a bad boss all things considered. A bit of an ass sometimes and most certainly the devil but... you learn to live with it."
Grace laid her face against him and bit her lip. Win it back in a gamble huh? She wondered if she could use one of her favors to get dice's soul back...
