Eyes Of A Demon (King Dice x OC/reader)

Chap. 26

Dice was hesitant to play against the devil, knowing how well he was able to cheat and make to seem legitimate but...he also knew the devil was a man of his word. If he said the set was uncheatable...then that was the truth.
He nodded, "fine. Let's play." He said, stepping up to the table to grace clung to his side but she was quickly ripped from his arms and pulled against the devil.
"she's still mine for now dice. Besides, you wouldn't want her pretty face to distract you." He said as he snaked his arms around grace and moved his face against her neck.
Dice balled his fists as he saw the way Grace wiggled around to try and free herself from his grip but he turned his focus on the table he either had to win twice or the devil had to lose twice to get Grace away from him.
"Let's play already." Dice snapped and the cups lifted on the table by magic and the shiny stone moved under the center cup before the cups lowered and began moving around rapidly, dice did his best to keep his eye on the cup with the stone and when the cups stopped he swallowed, sweat dripping down his temple as he made sure of his guess.
"The right cup has the stone." He said, sure he was correct.
The cups lifted to show the stone was indeed under the cup to the right.
Dice smiled in relief. He'd won a round. Just once more and he and grace could escape this place together.
"My turn." The devil said, sounding less than happy about dice's victory in the round.
The cups once again dropped and began spinning around eachother for a moment while dice kept his eyes on grace, mouthing to her silently that everything was going to be ok.
His eyes were torn back to the devil as he growled, having guessed the center cup to be hiding the stone and been incorrect.
If dice lost this turn they'd go again for the devil and then once more for dice but if he won they'd be free to go.
Dice turned his eyes to the cups and readied himself.
"Ok. Go." He said, watching intently for a moment before the devil decided he wasn't about to risk this game to dice's quick and well trained eye.
He leaned down and sank his teeth into Grace's shoulder just enough to make her shout and make dice lose his focus just before the cups did one last turn around eachother and they stopped.
Dice glared at the devil as grace whimpered in his grip. "You cheated! You made me lose my focus!" He protested.
"No where in the rules does it say I can play with my toy while your round is on going..." the devil said with a dark chuckle.
Grace whimpered but looked hard at the cups. Something about the set seemed strange. If the devil wasn't in control then how were they moving? Why would he need to cheat by distracting dice?
With her demonic eye she looked at the cups and saw that they had a vibrant orange outline to not only the cups but there seemed to be the silhouette of a person standing there, looking desperately at her, pointing to the cup on the left.
"Dice!" She said through her whimpers. "I...I saw which it was." She said quickly.
The devil growled. "How could you possibly have..."
"Which one?" Dice said, cutting off the devil.
"The one on the left." She said quickly.
"You're sure darling?" Dice asked, looking at the cups.
"Positive." She assured.
"Ok then. The stone is under the left one." He said, sure of her and her choice.
The cups all lifted and tf here sat the stone. Under the left side cup.
The devil snarled but true to his word he let his grip on grace go and she flew into dice's open arms, giggling happily as he spun her around.
"You did it darling! You saved us both!" Dice praised, kissing her over and over.
The devil snapped his fingers and the cup set disappeared and her contract, that had once belonged to dice appeared briefly before crumbling into ash on the floor.
"Yes yes. You won. Hoora hooray. Get. Out." The devil snarled.
Dice scooped Grace up in his arms and saluted the devil.
"Been a pleasure working for ya boss. Call me if you ever wanna actually pay me for my services." He said with a chuckle before carrying Grace out of that office. They were now free to go and do as they liked. Together.
