Dice took Grace to bed and the man quickly fell asleep with her laying on his chest like a child holding a teddy bear.
She watched him sleep in the dim moon light that peaked through his heavy curtains, unable to sleep herself as she felt she slept all day after dice put her to sleep in his office.
When she was sure he wouldn't stir she kissed him gently and slipped from the bed, quickly moving to pull on Dice's suit jacket over the silk shirt for a bit more coverage before slipping out of his suite and into the hall, tip toeing around until she spotted an imp sweeping the floors.
She asked for directions to the devils office from where she was which the imp was happy to give.
It was a kind little thing that took her hand and lesad her down the halls until they were at the office. It gave her a light bow before turning and walking away.
Grace swallowed hard now that she was alone, wondering if she should just go back to dice, if this was a bad idea, if she should even just go home?
She shook her head and set her jaw tight before knocking gently.
"Come in Grace." The devil called from inside, which startled her a little that he knew it was her.
She did open the door and step inside though, hesitating just inside once the door shut.
The devil was sipping on some whiskey and smoking a cigar in an armchair by the fireplace and he turned to look at her, snickering at her outfit. "Dice give you a nice rutting?"
Her cheeks turned red and she looked off. "No. Not tonight. We just took a bath, had dinner and went to bed." She explained.
The devil nodded, snapping his fingers and another chair appeared next him. "Come sit down. You're not in trouble for what happened today so don't be so skittish." He said gesturing to the seat, turning his gaze back to the flames.
She blinked, surprised that she wasn't in trouble but very greatful that she wasn't. She quickly made her way over and sat in the plush seat with her legs crossed. "Thank you... for saving me I mean."
The devil shrugged. "I don't like sharing my toys. My princes know that and should know better than to get handsy in the first place."
She nodded slowly before biting her lip, "I don't think our arrangement is going to work out." She admitted which seemed to really catch his attention as he snapped his neck to the side quickly to look at her.
"Why not?" He demanded, clearly upset.
"I don't feel safe. I don't like being dressed in skimpy outfits and I don't like the way you touch me when I wear them." She said firmly.
His eyes narrowed as he stood from his chair and moved to stalk over to her, standing over her like a skyscraper.
"Oh but your little heart desires something only I can give you my dear... you want dice to be free." He says, his eyes glowing bright red as he smiled down at her through his sharp teeth.
She looked away from his gaze as he reached out a clawed finger to play with a lock of her hair by her shoulder. "But you know I'd need more than your company to give him that..."
She swallowed hard and pressed her back against the chair, "what do you want?"
A deep chuckled resonated from his chest as he leaned down and moved his face by her ear, his breath hot on her delicate skin. "I'd take a trade. Your soul for his." He whispered.
She thought about it for a moment. Dice had protected her and helped her and been so kind to her even when he didn't know her at all. He was such a good person and while he had done some bad things as a child none of them were worth eternal servitude to the devil himself....
"And I would take very good care of you my dear. You'd want for nothing if you were mine...." He said, his hands moving to grip her hips which made her face turn red. "And he could be free to go and do something with his life. Leave this place, find a real job, start a life somewhere, maybe fall in love and have a real family with someone who wouldn't have to depend on him for everything..."
She blinked, did ahe really depend on dice that much? She did didn't she? She was really useless for him, a pretty hindrance was all she was... He deserved better. He deserved a chance at something equal.
She closed her eyes as little tears stung at the corners of them.
"You'll take my soul and free dice? That's the deal? Dice gets to go free?" She asked softly.
She could hear the smile in his voice when he answered her, "free as a bird to go and do as he pleases. And you'd be mine for me to do as I please."
There was a moment of silence before she nodded slowly, "ok... you have a deal." She whispered, the tears dripping down her face.
