Rhea has hopes that the school carnival will bring her back to the land of being a normal teenager, like her dad isn't dead, her best friend isn't a witch, and her other best friend wasn't currently laying in a hospital bed. She craves normalcy, and feels like she always will—she never really felt in her heart that she was never meant to have it, but her mind is jealous of the people around her that lived a normal life of just being human. There are times she just doesn't feel like she is; like she's been put in the wrong body and she isn't even meant to be standing there.

Tyler explains it best. The anger and aggression doesn't go away, even with several varsity sports, regular work out sessions and runs. They're just angry people that have episodes where they black out in a blind rage. It starts out normal, and then they just get angry over nothing; it just amplifies before they eventually just go off. There's no pattern that they can recognise—all they know is that they lose themselves, and they feel they become something else and they hate it. Rhea would give anything to not have that fear of losing control looming over her. She's jealous of the way Caroline, Bonnie and Elena are just so damn happy all the time.

She tries not to think about it as her eyes scan the detailed clipboard filled with tasks that require to be done. Caroline had created it months ago when she began planning the carnival; since she was in the hospital, Rhea was appointed lead for prepping the carnival, and Elena and Bonnie were helping out.
Caroline didn't trust Bonnie and Elena by themselves, so she was forcing her to make sure it was completely perfect and 'fabulous'.

The whole thing drove her mad since people were incapable of following orders and they were making the dumbest decisions in the history of dumb decisions but she owed it to Caroline to make it perfect—hopefully it'll get her off her back for a couple of events in the future.

Planning also made it easier to get her mind off of her dad's death and the feeling of a broken home... what a mess her life had become to within a matter of days.

However, Tyler wasn't helping as he was constantly talking about the previous night's events, and he just wouldn't go away for her to focus. She loves her brother, but sometimes he was very thick headed and can't read a room. He couldn't stop thinking about the conversation they had with Mason, and it's like his words were stuck in his mind and he couldn't let it go unless he spoke about it.

Rhea let out a petulant sigh, "Your staring is annoying me." She said as she kept her eyes on her clipboard, fiddling with the pen in her hand and threading it around her fingers. She could practically feel his gaze on her, "What are you thinking so hard about?"
