Rhea thinks she's being sneaky, but Tyler knows her very well. He could sniff something was up with her from the minute she left the booth with Jules. He knows she doesn't like her, and doesn't trust her as far as she can throw her; but there seemed to be something else—a hint of doubt. Not for Jules, but for the vampires that Jules claims are crawling around in Mystic Falls. She's a curious person; always looking to find the truth in everything, even if the truth is ugly and hurts. It's because of Mason that she's curious. Tyler knows she wants to find out why he's dead and who did it, and Tyler is worried that the truth will hurt more than she expects. She never liked Mason because of their parents and what they said about him, but at the end of the day, Mason was still their family—besides their mom, he was all they had left.

Because Jules had said that it was vampires that killed him, Tyler had decided to ask the vampire he's closest with. Even as a human, Caroline somehow managed to find out everything about anyone in a matter of a few minutes. But, as a vampire, Caroline should know what happened with her own kind.

Tyler waited for Caroline by her car outside her home. He's suspicious of Caroline, and now there's tension between them building. His ears perk when he hears her walking towards the front door—a new perk he's come to notice since his transformation into a werewolf; his eyesight, hearing, speed and strength have never been higher. He feels like he's on top of the world physically, but internally he feels so drained.

Caroline leaves her house out and locks the door. She turns around to find Tyler waiting by her car. She plasters a smile on her face even though she's slightly uncomfortable by his presence after what happened between them, "Hey. How's it going?" She asks.

"We need to talk." He states.

"Yeah, we do." Caroline agrees with a sigh, trying to figure out how she's going to say her next words without hurting his feelings too much, "Listen... I've been thinking about it, and I don't want to over-analyse. It was just one kiss, but Matt's still kind of in the picture. We can't go there, Tyler."

"Fine."

"Great. That's settled." She says and walks toward her car and presses the button on her key to unlock her car door on the way there.

"What happened to my Uncle Mason?" Tyler asks suddenly, his jaw clenching at the idea that she had something to do with it and the fact that he had trusted her as well when she lied to his face about not knowing anything.
