Rhea Lockwood never really believed in the supernatural. She was often seen as a realist and usually laughed whenever someone brought up the possibility of it ever occurring in her s...
The first thing that Rhea realised when she woke up, was that she wasn't in her room, or even in her own house. The second thing was that Caroline and Bonnie stood over her with concerned looks on their faces while she had no idea why. She immediately sat up in the bed she was laying in, regretting the movement instantaneously as she immediately grabbed her head and groaned when she felt an extreme amount of pressure build up in her forehead.
"Hey, be careful." Caroline hushed as she gently pushed Rhea back down into the very comfortable bed.
"What happened?" Rhea managed to croak out, making a face at herself for how hoarse her voice sounded and Bonnie quickly passed her a glass of water as she sat next to her on the bed.
"What was the last thing you remember?" The witch asked her and Rhea's face scrunched up again as she tried to think back.
She remembered seeing Grams again and she remembered having to look through Damon's things to find Elena's necklace. She remembered the phone call that she had with Caroline that she couldn't find it, and speaking with Mason about it, and then, that was it. She brought a hand up to her head, trying to ease the pain that was building up there, "I—um, I remember looking for the necklace with Mason and coming up short. Then I remember that we thought that Anna might have stolen the necklace so she could stay." Rhea recalled. She then looked around, "Where is Mason?"
The girls looked at her sympathetically, "Anna gave up the necklace and the ghosts are gone, Rhea." Caroline told her and Rhea's face fell. She didn't realise how much she truly missed her uncle until he disappeared again. She barely had any time with him and she had so many questions to ask and she didn't even get to apologise for how much of a bitch she had been to him when he came back to town; even though he was only trying to help, "Right after we hung up the phone, Mason said you collapsed and he went to find Damon who came and found us. We got here as soon as we could and when we found you, you were passed out on the floor in a pool of your own blood. Your skin was completely grey."
Rhea looked shocked at the news before looking at her skin to confirm that it had indeed gotten a lot worse than she remembered. She didn't even realise she had gotten so bad; the thought of the rotting of her skin was pushed to the back of her mind so she wasn't constantly thinking about it and it wasn't getting in the way of her everyday life. She didn't feel any symptoms and the fact that she had completely collapsed and had turned grey shocked her. "Damon made a comment when he saw you that you looked as if you had been staked." Caroline stated and Rhea looked confused, "Rhea, you're not decaying, you're desiccating—as if you've been starved of blood or your heart has been ripped out."
