"Jennifer!" Woody bangs on the door. My eyes shoot open. Josh is still asleep. "Jen! Are you okay? You never lock the door."
"Just fine Woody! Give me a sec." I say back.
"Josh get up." I whisper in his ear. His eyes open slowly. He smiles and I push him off the bed. Thud.
"What was that?" Woody says louder.
"Oh, clumsy me. I just fell." I laugh nervously. Josh rolls under my bed. I run up to the door and open it.
Woody walks in. "How did you fall?"
"I tripped on my pants. I'm just me being dumb." I rub my eyes.
"Don't lock the door, okay kiddo. I just don't want something bad happening." Woody says awkwardly. Like he's never said that to anyone before.
"I make no promises." I smile. He laughs and exits the room. I close the door immediately. Josh rolls out from under the bed.
"I'm so sorry." I help him up. He sits on my bed. "You weren't moving fast enough. Are you okay?"
He laughs quitely. "I'm fine. But if we ever get married, we are never sleeping in the same bed." He winks.
"What makes you think I'd marry you?" I poke his chest.
"Because I'm irresistible, handsome, smart, funny, sexy, did I mention handsome-" He begins.
"Sure you are." I roll my eyes. He grabs my waist and pulls me close.
"Your right. Why would you marry me. I don't have plans for my future and I'm crazy." He sighs.
I lift his chin. " Because your smart, funny, irresistible, and very very handsome." I giggle.
"I have never known anyone who actually believed I was good enough." He hands let me go.
"And I've always thought that needing people was a sign of weakness." I say. Sitting next to him, very close. He leans his forehead against mine.
"I make you weak?" He jokes. He land rest on my upper thigh.
"To the point were I'm always falling over." I say, holding his neck, pulling him closer. "You're better than good, you're perfect."
He leans in and his warm lips brush mine. I pull at his hair. His pulls at my clothes. We both lay on my bed. Our lips still desperately wanting more of each other, to the point were I have to stop to breath.
He pulls me off of him. Was I going to far? What was I doing wrong? He stands up and straightens his shirt and smooth out his hair.
"I'm sorry. I was too-" I shake my head.
"No no. It wasn't you. Truth is...I'm scared it I might go somewhere else." He admits. "I can't control myself..."
"Oh..." I let out. I never thought Josh would be scared to go far.
"I'll see you soon." He winks. How long would that be? I want him now.
He climbs out the window. I sit on my bed. Josh didn't want me getting hurt emotionally? Or was it him? He doesn't want to have me to himself and then lose me somehow? I wish I could read his thoughts.
I walk down stairs. And walk into the kitchen. Hopefully there is some left over chinese food from last night, I think.
"Hey Woody-" I stop and stare at Josh sitting at the table. He winks at me. That's how long. He must have jumped off the roof and came knocking.
