Chapter 20: Confusion

Inside the woods filled with sounds of nature, the bright sun shone upon creating dazzling lights that woke almost every forest folks.

While one manly elf, with his boots he walks to a dirt path towards a familiar tree house with the waterfall roaring behind.

A smile on his lips as he inhaled the bouquet of flowers he was holding, "I'm sure she'll love this," he whispers, stroking one petal with his finger.

As he was standing already at the front, he hovered his hand over the wooden knob, pausing to smile, then carefully opened the door.

Only to stop and clutch tight on the flowers his holding upon seeing a sight of a human... sleeping together with his love.

He felt his blood rose up his face, it was boiling out of anger. Inside of him he wanted to draw his sword from the baldric, and just eliminate the human from existing. But no... not in front of Wonyoung.

And the bunny, felt another presence around. So with twitching ears, she slowly fluttered her eyes open, only to be shocked at the figure standing at the doorway.

Kai flashed her a forced smile.

It was an unknown experience... but why is she feeling nervous?

She immediately stood to come to the prince, afterwards greeting him with a hug, "Good morning."

But what Kai asked made her heart skip a beat. "Why are you with her..?"

She held Kai's cheek, "Human has no other place to take for the night—"

"So you slept with her??" Wonyoung felt his voice slightly rising, resulting for her ears to fall down out of remorse... and disappointment.

Kai dragged her outside, still holding tight of the bunny's wrist as he faced her. Then Wonyoung flicked his hands away to let him let go of her, "Prince Kai, nothing happened! We were just sleeping—"

"You're sleeping together!"

This statement made Wonyoung fell speechless. Her eyebrows creased, eyes disappointingly looks at the prince, "Why are you giving meaning to it?"

"Wonyoung you're sleeping with her. You won't even let me sleep with you when we're together! It's supposed to be us, waking on the same bed!"

At this point he had already shouted. Some tiny pixies and gnomes happen to hear, now peaking out slowly from the plants, trees or behind rocks just to see what's the ruckus. Little babbles escaped their mouths as they communicate to each other about the couple's argue.

"Are you jealo—"

"I am! I'm madly jealous!"

Kai's confession made the bunny fall into silence. She was speechless and mind is baffled with thoughts she could never decipher.

Then Kai gripped both Wonyoung's shoulders, "Wonyoung you're mine! Only mine!"

Silence embedded them afterwards. Just staring at each other with no words nor proper thoughts in their minds. Kai's too furious and Wonyoung's too confused with herself.

Wonyoung released a sigh, giving in and placed a palm on the prince's cheek, "I understand... sorry."

I love you, Wonyoung," He pulled the bunny into his arms, burying his face on the crook of her neck as his hug tightens.

However, Wonyoung couldn't seem to let out any word for a response. And her arms, they were just hanged down, not even reciprocating Kai's hug. She was too confused all of the sudden. Why.. is this happening? Why can't I say it back? I can't pull up my arms to hug him back.

She just leaned her head on Kai's shoulder and closed her eyes, Why... does it feels so wrong?

"Please tell me," Kai leans away, enough to cup the bunny's face, "You love me, right?"

Seconds... seconds have passed and Wonyoung still couldn't find the right words to answer. But seeing Kai's desperate eyes, she only responded a simple nod and added a hum.

Wonyoung's other hand has now been occupied by Kai, while her other was holding the flowers he gave. Both of them sorted thing out already, now going around the forest with small talks.

Eventually Kai would tell her about how his life is at the castle and his 'princely' duties, and the bunny would just nod, sometimes agreeing to his words without even listening to him wholeheartedly to be honest.

Wonyoung's minds are still occupied with things she herself couldn't understand.

"Ohhhhh you're having a date??" When Chaewon suddenly appeared out of nowhere with her wings spread excitedly.

"Good morning, unnie," Wonyoung caressed Chaewon's cheek to greet, which Chaewon reciprocated back with a grin.

"Good morning to you too," She patted the bunny's head, then paused after facing Kai. She just ignored the prince and payed full attention to her friend.

"So.. that's means I'm free to take my human out right??" She grins wider than ever, only sending Wonyoung to widen her eyes.

But before she could even utter a word, Chaewon had flapped her wings again, now flying up above, "Bye bye!! I'm playing all day with human!!" She immediately flew to the opposite direction.

Which Wonyoung just fell speechless and... even she can't understand what she truly felt.

She didn't even know that Kai's already partly glaring at her.
