A/N:

Surprise!!😆

So here's the special chapter 'cause I missed this book. Well, I really planned this one as the original ending, but things changed so... yeah. 🤧

This chapter is written to show an alternate ending of what Yujin's life would be if Wonyoung indeed was only a part of her imagination.

———

"Yujin! Hurry up!"

"Okay!" Yujin shouted back as a response to her mother's call and quickened her pace more. After folding her clothes, not even caring if they're properly folded or just being rolled, she shoved them inside her luggage as fast as she could. Well, they're catching up their flight for abroad. To New Zealand exactly to continue her college study there.

It's been 3 years already... 3 years since Yujin decided to.... wake up from her dreams. She spent the first years for her recovery, even gapped a year on her education just so she could recover from her mental illness. Yes, Yujin has been sick ever since she's been prisoned in their mansion in the past. Schizophrenia. She spent her childhood having such disorder. But Yujin already knew, thus the reason why Yujin's parents kept her inside their house for years. She completely recovered after a year of staying in Seoul. And she have graduated high school just recently too, now she's going abroad for college aiming to be a novelist.

Yujin finished up fixing her luggages and more necessities she'll bring along. With the bags on her hand, she walks towards their car and placed them on the bunk, making sure that nothing else is forgotten or else she'll be doomed. But, just then a sudden memory just rewinded in her mind that made her immediately run back to their house.

"Where are you going?" Asked Suzy, Yujin's mother who was carrying a small box with her.

"I'll just visit Dad for a quick goodbye," Yujin grabbed the bouquet of flowers she bought earlier and went to the backyard just near the forest entrance. This house is built purposely in a lonely urban area so it's no surprise anymore that there's a small forest just beside. As she watched how her daughter was gleaming excitement as she ran, Suzy can't help but flash a sweet smile before placing down the box in the car.

Yujin slowed her steps gradually stopping only when she's already standing at the front of one sturdy tree where a stone was rested underneath with a person's name being carved on it. It's Yujin's father's grave. He passed away years ago due to heart failure.

She placed the flowers carefully beside the tomb and settled herself to sit, "Dad, I'm going overseas for a while. I will not be visiting more often than before." With her bare finger she traced the top of the stone soothingly, longing for the presence of her father that she hadn't talked to for a while. "Mom will be staying here to accompany you. But you don't have to worry about me being alone there far away. I'm sure I'll make friends quick." In her chuckle lies an agonizing mourn that a tear failed to stay in her eyes. "I'll sure be missing you both."

With a final smile she finally stood up. She was about to turn around when her eyes have got caught being hypnotized by the forestry view just in front of her. This forest tho... why do I feel so connected to it?

Schizophrenia is an illness that makes a person hallucinate things into believing they're real. And that happened to Yujin. Her favorite character from her favorite children's book, Wonyoung, there came to a point that she met her somewhere in this forest. They developed love for each other. But all of those were only her hallucinations. Nothing is real. And now that she's completely sane, those fake memories that she created have vanished along her illness. It's part of her recovery to forget those hallucinations.
