Dan's POV
I wanted to know what Jim and the doctor were talking about so I went out the door.
"Elsie." I heard Jim say
"What about Elsie?" I asked.
"Dan."
"Hello, what's wrong?"
"Jess, well she had a miscarriage."
"Tell me you're joking Jim."
"I'm sorry."
"Oh my God." I fell to the floor and cried. "Where is she?"
"In a ward at the moment." The doctor answered. The doctor had deep blue eyes and blonde hair. Beautiful. What? No Dan, NO.
"Can I see her?"
"Okay, follow me."
Jim and I went to Jess's room and when the nurse opened the door I saw her...
Jess had tubes attached to her arm, her hair was under her and a book was on her bed. She was asleep, but she had been awake. How long had we been here for? 2, 3.,4 hours? I walked over to her bed and held her hand. Her eyes flickered open.
"Dan?" She croaked.
"Jess!" I said, overjoyed. At least I hadn't lost her.
"Dan, I-"
"I know Jess."
"I'm sorry."
"It wasn't your fault, none of this." I felt the box in my jacket pocket. "Jim, could you please leave us alone for a minute?" Jim nodded and walked out.
"Dan?"
"Well, this wasn't the way wanted to do it but here it goes." I cleared my throat, I could already feel my alcohol level going down and my words wern't so slurred anymore. "Jessie Chapman. You are the best thing that has ever happened top me and I love you so much." I knelt down on one knee. "Jess, I you to be mine forever and a day. I love you so much. I love the way you defend me on Twitter, I love the way you get so insecure about the little things, I love how you won't vlogg early in the morning because of your bed head, I love the way you scrunch your nose up when you don't like something, I love how you are never negative, I love how when you wake up you always kiss me and when you sleep you always mumble something that I never hear right before you drift off, I love how kind you are. I love everything about you Jess and I want to love you forever."I pulled out the box and gave it to her, "Jessie Louise Chapman Will you marry me?"
"Oh. My. Good. God." Jess' eyes went wide as she saw the ring. It was a thin ring with a small emerald on it (as she was born in August) the band was just wide enough to see the words 'Jan 5ever. Dan and Jess'' on the outside and on the inside was written 'I love you always, I love you 5ever' from Troye's song as that was her favourite song. "Dan I love it!" Then she seemed to realize that I was waiting for her answer "Yes, sorry, yes a million times yes. I love you so much."
I lent over to her and kissed her, putting the ring on her finger.
"I wish we were alone right now." She mumbled
"I almost always wish that." I said in between kisses
"Now THAT is the right time to use a Divergent quote Howell."
"Why thank you Mrs Howell."
Then Jim walked in and coughed. "So you two finally married then?" He asked and then Jess showed him her ring. Zalfie, Louise, Tan, Narcus and Anna Sacconejoly walked in and Jess showed off her ring to them all. Today was starting to be a good day but I knew it wouldn't last long. I sat on the bed next to Jess and put my arm around her shoulders. She smiled at me and put her head on my chest. Then Tan and Jim vlogged (Jess told her Twitter followers and stuff about her being in the hospital.). I was so happy there and then, all my best friends around me apart from Phil. Stop, don't ruin this moment. I decided then that everything would be better from now on no matter what life threw at us Jess and I could get through it together.
