After Gabriel and Alex settled Aia’s hospital bill, they went back to Aia’s hospital suite. Hindi nila ito nakita sa loob kaya tinanong nila si Doc. Sandra kung nasaan ito.

“She’s changing.” Umupo ito sa single sofa and motioned them to do the same. Naupo sila sa katabi nitong upuan. “I want to talk to you about something,” she said looking directly at him. “It’’s about Aia.”

“What is it, Doc?”

“Actually, I want to ask a favour for her.”

Gabriel waited. Alex was just listening to their conversation.

“I want you to take Aia away from the camp for the whole weekend. As you see, she’s emotionally unstable. She needs a new environment. Bring her somewhere she could relax, someplace that could get her mind off her pain and worries. Kahit sandali lang. It would be good to her.”

“I can’t decide on that Doc. Sandra,” Gabriel said. “We just learned she had gunshot wounds, and she’s wearing bullet proof vest since she arrived at the camp. Apparently, may threat sa buhay niya. I don’t want to compromise her safety kung ilalabas ko siya nang kampo lalo pa at wala akong alam kung sino ang nagtangka sa buhay niya.”

“But, Gabriel, please think of ways to help her recover. Totally. Safe nga siya but every time she hears gunfire, ma sha-shock naman siya. Ang gusto ko, mawala ang trauma niya. I hope you understand.”

Gabriel nodded, “I do understand Ma’am, but kakasabi lang nang General na hindi ko siya pwedeng ilabas nang kampo. Hindi ko pwedeng suwayin ang utos niya.”

“I’ll talk to him. I’m sure papayag ‘yon.”

“Kung iuutos nang general, Ma’am, wala ho akong magagawa kundi ang sumunod.” Gabriel was not in the position to decide for Aia. Kung siya lang din, he’d gladly do it. Para na rin makabawi dito at matulungan itong maka-recover emotionally. But, maraming factors na dapat isaalang-alang. First, if the General would allow them. Second, it was about Aia’s safety. And lastly, saan niya ito dadalhin na hindi ika-kapahamak nito?

Ang pag uusap pa rin nila kanina ni Doc. Sebastian ang laman nang isip ni Gabriel. Before the Doctor went back to Manila, she told him na pumayag daw ang general na ilabas si Aia basta sa isang safe na lugar niya ito dadalhin. Kung may kailangan daw siya, tawagan lang daw niya ang general. He’d immediately arrange for their transport.

It was past midnight at hindi pa rin siya dalawin nang antok. Nag iisip siya kung saan niya pwedeng dalhin si Aia na secure ito at mag e-enjoy. He only had six hours to think.  Their transport would arrive at exactly 0600 hours.

Bumalikwas siya nang bangon nang may kumatok sa pinto niya. Nagtataka kung sino ang kakatok sa kanya sa ganuong oras nang gabi. Tumayo siya at binuksan iyon.  Aia was in his doorstep, with two mugs in her hands. Buti na lang at disente siya ngayon. Often times, he slept in his boxers. Para in case na may emergency mabilis siyang makapagbihis.
