Arigatou minna. :)

Gabriel rushed to the cafeteria. Hindi pa man nakakaparada ng maayos ang sasakyan ay tumalon na siya. Nag aalala siya kay Aia. Baka kung ano na nag nangyari dito. Nakasunod naman sa kanya si Sgt. Baldo at Sgt. Malvar. They could hear the commotion inside. Pinalilibutan si Aia  ng mga kapwa estudyante. When the crown shifted, Gabriel caught a glimpse of Aia in the center of the throng.

For the first time in his military life, he was terrified. Aia was just sitting in her chair, a crying Eva standing beside her, holding her, shouting to call for an ambulance. Parang itinulos siya sa kinatatayuan.

“’Bok,” Si Alex. “Nakatawag na ako ng back up. Papunta na sila dito.”

“Good.” Gabriel gathered his act together. Aia needed him. Hindi siya dapat manghina. He was a soldier for crying out loud. No one noticed them as they dashed inside the cafeteria. His men fended the students off who were circling Aia without too much trouble, holding them at arms length. They were all curious as why they were there but self introduction was the least bit of Gabriel’s concern.

As he dashed toward Aia, he shouted to his team, “Baldo prepare the car then call the hospital.” He then turned to Alex, “Alcatraz, call your men, tell them sa hospital na dumiretso. Malvar. Maiwan ka dito. Alam mo na ang gagawin.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Miss Mondejar heard his voice and stared at him. “Sir Gabriel?” Napalingon it okay Alex, “Sir Alex?”

Good thing she still remembered them. There was no need for introductions. Seeing her face, she was clearly puzzled by their presence. But then again, he didn’t owe them an explanation. Si Aia lang ang improtante sa ngayon.

Gabriel stood before Aia. Eva gave way.

“Aia,” he called her, trying to get a verbal response. But there was none. Her pupils were blasted wide open. Expertly, he ran he ran his hands down her arm. Tenderly, he took her wrist into his hands to check her pulse. He didn’t even have to count because it was just too weak.

Alex walked toward them. Nasa mukha nito ang pag aalala kay Aia. “Aia,” Hindi nito alam kung saan hahawakan si Aia.

Gabriel turned to Eva, “Miss Mondejar, alam mo ba ang nangyari?”

Umiiyak na umiling ito. “Hindi ho, Sir Gabriel. Nadatnan ko na lang siyang ganyan dito. Nag aalala na nga ako eh.”

“Bakit hindi niyo siya dinala sa clinic?”

“Kadarating ko lang ho.”

Gabriel turned back to Aia, studying her face. Aia was in shock, he could tell because he saw a lot of similar cases before. War victims suffered from psychogenic shock. At kung hindi maagapan, it could be life threathening. But Aia’s case was diferrent. Nasa campus ito at hindi sa war zone. Ano ang dahilan ng pagka-kashock nito?

Aia didn’t have any faculties at the moment. Her mind had been blown by whatever caused it.

“Bok, she’s pretty shocky.”

“Miss Aia?” he called her again. “Can you hear me?”

Aia was staring at him.

“Miss Trinidad!” Maybe if he called her in that way, maririnig siya nito.
