JACE'S POV
I can't believe it. They found a way to trace her. I sit in the library as Magnus talks about what we have to do to prepare for whatever he's planning. It sounds awfully complicated, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes. I would go back to Edom.
"How long will this take?", I ask, using my voice for the first time in months. It comes out hoarse and scratchy, long out of practice. Everyone looks at me, almost scared.
"Um, well...", Magnus says, taken aback. "It would probably take us a few months to get ready. I have brew some kind of potion, then after 70 days, we have to add some of Clary's hair. Then it has to simmer for a week, and I can take the potion and do the spell. So I would reason around three months.
I look at him, eager but serious. "Whatever it takes, I'm ready to do it. I will do anything to get Clary back."
