Cheryl woke up to the fire alarm going off and frantic yells of her roommates/best friends, Betty and Veronica.

"Fuck! Cher, wake up!" Betty yelled before coughing.

"What's going on?!" she asked frantically, coughing herself.

"Veronica burned the food! It's a fire!"

"We have to get out!" Veronica coughed, "I already called the fire department-" she was cut off when a loud boom broke from the front of the house.

"Is there anyone in here?!"

"Yes! P-Please!" Cheryl gasped, desperate for air.

"Over here, Arch!" Toni yelled as she rushed over to the redhead and the other two, Archie and Jughead, rush to Betty and Veronica.

"Here, here, put this over your face," Toni instructed gently. Cheryl complied, putting the breathing mask over her mouth and nose.

"Did I die and go to heaven?" she mumbled weakly, in awe of Toni's features.

The pinkette held in her soft chuckle as she picked the redhead up bridal style, moving quickly to get her out of the house safely.

Archie and Jughead were out after the pinkette, getting the girls to an ambulance truck.

"P-please don't let me go!" Cheryl whimpered, feeling safe in the pinkette's arms.

"I know, love. But I have to do my job." Toni told the stranger gently. This isn't the first time people have done this. They feel safer with the person who saved their life.

Cheryl refused to let go and Toni sighed, letting the woman clinging to her while the EMT checked her out.

"Breathe in and out for me." the guy told Betty gently. The blonde complied, taking deep breaths and the EMT nodded for her to stop.

He did the same to Cheryl and Veronica before speaking again. "There's no wheezing and they're breathing perfectly fine. But I advise that we transfer them to a hospital so they could do further exams."

"Alright." Toni nodded and looked down at Cheryl.

"Hey, do you have any family that you need to call?"

"M-My father," she mumbled.

"Yeah?"

Cheryl nodded. Toni looked up at her two best friends. "We'll get in contact with your families so they could be with you at the hospital, kay?"

"Okay." the woman nodded.

Toni gave them a friendly smile before standing up, Cheryl still in her arms.

"You have to go with the EMT, okay?" she told her.

When Cheryl refused once more, Toni had no choice but to get the EMT to pry the redhead away.

"I'll be at the hospital when you get there. I have to fill them in, you will see me again, okay?" Toni told her gently before the guy closed the ambulance truck.

"Damn, Toni." Archie chuckled as he and Jughead returned after putting the fire out.

Toni took off her helmet and shook her hair of knots before taking off the breathing mask. Her pink hair rested against her back as she undid the zipper to the heavy jumpsuit.
