You stepped out of Nobara's car, since you were the first one to drop off, as requested. You waved at them, kissing Yuji on the cheek, greeting him one last time to which he returned with a 'thanks', then went inside. You were exhausted. Mentally, physically and... emotionally.
Your mom hugged you and you just stood there and let her. It surprised you that you felt relieved that someone finally comforted you without even knowing they were doing it. You closed your eyes, hugging her back.
"You're back so soon. I thought you'll be home by midnight." she pulled back, surveying you. You looked away, gripping your bag, not wanting her to suspect anything. "Yeah, well, we're all tired." you walked pass her.
You can hear her light footsteps behind you, "Did you have fun?" she said that made you stop on your tracks and look back at her.
You gave her a forced smile. "Yeah. I did." Lies.
For the next three hours or so, you just slept because of how tired you were. You didn't even have the chance to unpack your things, you just went straight to bed since you were dying to lay on it.
It was already 4pm when you woke up. You rubbed your eyes, still feeling tired but you have to unpack your stuffs so you won't have to worry about anything.
That's what you did. You emptied your travel bag and sat at the edge of the bed, looking at the mess on the floor. It took you fifteen minutes to clean up everything before you slumped down again.
You didn't check your phone because you didn't want to. You didn't want to get your hopes up, anyway. A sigh came out of your lips as you stared at the ceiling.
There was a knock on your door that made you sit up. You didn't even realize it was already time for dinner, so you got up and went downstairs.
Your mom asked for details and you told her almost everything that happened at the beach. You can feel she's waiting for you to say something but you purposely left that detail out. You didn't feel like talking about him tonight. Or ever.
She asked for a movie night. Even though you weren't in the mood, you still sat on the couch with her as she played a movie.
You were half paying attention to it. Maybe because you were still tired. Or you're just forcing yourself to watch so you can distract yourself.
Your mom noticed that. "You want to continue this tomorrow?" she threw you a worried glance. You instantly felt bad, looking into her eyes. She was studying you so you just glanced away from her gaze.
"Yeah. I'm just... tired." you went straight to bed after that.
The next morning was dreadful. You didn't want to go to class yet, but your mom will know something's up with you, so you forced yourself to get dressed.
You haven't checked your phone since yesterday, and you left it at that. You ate breakfast of course, since you were pretending to be okay in front of your mom. The thoughts that you've been having for a while were shook off when you plugged in your earphones.
It didn't take long for you to arrive just on time in class. Luckily, your first class today wasn't with your friends. It's not that you didn't want to see them, but you weren't in the mood to deal with them first thing in the morning.
You looked dead. You know that. So when you were about to go inside your next class, a hand was placed on your shoulder. You turn to see Yuji, who wasn't smiling. His eyes were filled with worry, and you hated to see that.
"Hey." you tried to greet with a smile on your face. He surveyed your whole face and smiled back, still worried. "I've been calling your name but you didn't look my way. I thought you had earphones on, but..."
