After eating dinner and dessert with Gojo (all his treat), you decided to go home. You didn't spend the night at Gojo's after, because you had to go home and talk to Megumi. Gojo didn't know that though, since you only told him you were tired and your mom is probably worried where you are right now. Lies. But you didn't want him to think that you're putting Megumi first before him. It's better to just spit white lies than another argument that could lead to an ugly fight... you couldn't risk that. He hates Megumi, even though he doesn't admit that, and you know Megumi doesn't like him either.
Gojo drove you home, you kissed him goodbye then he watched you walk inside before driving off, for safety purposes, you think. You let out a deep sigh and turned the knob on, not expecting to see your mother on the couch, concern plastered on her face. She glanced up at you then immediately stood up to hug you.
"Hey... mom." you say awkwardly, patting her back. You saw how worried she was when she pulled back. "Have you heard from him?"
Your brow shot up. "Who?"
"Megumi. Where is he?"
Confused, you narrowed your eyes at her. "What do you mean?"
Your mom shake her head in disbelief. "You don't know? He left... and all his things are gone, without informing either of us."
That made you pull out your phone but cursed silently when you realized it's off since you left with Gojo. You should've answered back at him when you had the chance. You pulled a reassuring smile, hoping your mom wouldn't see how nervous you are and headed towards your room. "I'll talk to him." you say, and didn't wait for her reply as you shut the door behind you.
With frantic movements, you waited for your phone to turn on and quickly called Megumi's number. He wasn't answering, and you think maybe he's at work, or at the hospital by now. You didn't waste your time getting your stuff and walked downstairs, stomping your feet in hurry. Your mom looked more worried than she was when she saw your state, but you assured her once again that Megumi is alright and you talked to him. Lies, again.
You've never walked so fast in your life, thinking maybe there's a problem with Tsumiki or your best friend is caught up with something. You can never be sure what's up, so you hailed a cab and told the driver to speed up a bit. He didn't hesitate to drive faster and in less than two minutes, you're already outside the hospital, making a beeline to Tsumiki's room. The nurse didn't question you since you're considered a 'family' of the Fushiguros, as you strode through the white hall, getting more anxious as you near her room.
You twisted the knob and there, you saw your bestfriend sitting on the couch with a blank look on his face. He snapped his head up, an alarming look on his face, but softened when he realized it was you. Was he expecting someone? You caught your breath and raised your phone, "Why did you leave the house? Where were you? I called you so many times."
Megumi's face was void of emotion, eyes holding your gaze. He sighed, and stand up, with his hands inside his pockets. "Is something wrong? What's with your text? Is there an emergency? What—"
"Y/N." his tone was cold. You stilled, peering up at him.
For a few moments, he was silent. You grew anxious as he remained quiet and just stood there, with an unreadable expression on his face. Then finally, he inhaled deeply, and his stare was hard on you. You tensed at his cold gaze, anticipating for his explanation, yet you have a feeling it's not going to be a good news. He looked stiff and it only made you more worried.
